Recently I've been losing hope. My Father has to have his leg amputated and is in hospital. My Cousin died, and my other Cousin has to go into hospital due to kidney failure.
Please can someone give me some words of inspiration, because lately I've been giving up.

Sorry to hear what's been happening to your family.
Though it's hard to go through pain and suffering and many times we don't understand why they happen, unfortunately it's unavoidable in this fallen world. So, our hope should not be on the things in this world, but on God and his kingdom which has no suffering.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
(And if you ever want to get philosophical about the problem of pain and evil, there was a discussion on it at The Problem with the Problem of Evil)

Hello Chance,
Life sure is hard, don’t we know this. Whatever happens, cleave to God in faith. Don’t let go. If you do, it’s like a man who’s shipwrecked, who finds himself in the ocean with a lifeboard. If he somehow loses the lifeboard, that’s the end. He drowns. He does not have the strength to tread water and stay afloat.
In my own experience, when I am down or cornered with no one to turn to, God strengthens me to go through the pain. I am speaking in a literal sense. I can actually feel strength coming into me from an outside source and I know it’s God. If He doesn’t give me strength, I know I can’t go on. It’s as simple as that. After I go through it, I find a higher hurdle and yet a higher one, like my mettle is being tested and there’s no end. Yet, holding God tightly through it all, I evolve to be much stronger emotionally and mentally.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
I have no doubt that God will be there for you as long as you cleave to Him in faith. Never let go of faith b/c honestly, faith is the lifeboard in this ocean of life.
I am not very good consoling people but I hope this helps a little.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I feel I need them at the moment. I haven't really been able to sleep much. But thankyou.

Life is what it is.
While there are times where the world seems against you and nothing you do seems right, you can always know there are people who share their love and are willing to lend a hand. There are always people who can provide a shoulder to cry on, or a hand to hold.
In my dreams we walked, you and I to the shore
Leaving footprints by the sea
And when there was but one set of prints in the sand
That was when you carried me.
You have always been such a good friend to me
In the thunder, and the rain
And when you're feeling lost in the snows of New York
Lift your heart and think of me
- Chris de Burgh
