I'm a youth pastor in a Southern Baptist church in Arkansas. I was born and raised here. My mother is a New Age follower, although she is not as firm a follower as her mother was. My father is the son of a Southern Baptist pastor, although he nor my mother attended church at all while I was growing up. When I was 2 years old, I met an elderly man who became my best buddy. He began taking me to the United Methodist Church. I loved going with him. I became an acolyte and was even baptized (sprinkled) when I was 9.
When I was ten years old, my parents divorced, and I talked to my dad about taking me to church. We settled on a Southern Baptist Church in town, which is where I heard of God's redemptive plan for the first time.
At the age of 13, I was attending a youth conference in Hot Springs, AR. The service had not even begun, and people were all standing and talking amongst each other. However, the Holy Spirit was dealing with my heart. There, in my seat, I prayed to God, turned from my sins, and accepted His gift of salvation for me.
Simply put, my life has never been the same since. The more I learn about God through His Word, and the more I learn about myself, the more I am amazed at how He could love me the way He does. It is my desire that everyone might come to know the love God has for their soul.
I am currently a youth pastor, working with students in grades 7-12, and I welcome any questions about any subject from teenagers to theology.
