Question:
When was the Jehovah Witness religion first established and by whom?
Age of Jehovah Witness religion?

A new religion?
Post #11So the Jehovah Witness was established in 1879, right? That makes it pretty new on the religion scene doesn't it?
"The beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses are based on the Bible teachings of Charles Taze Russell—founder of the Bible Student movement—and successive presidents of the Watch Tower Society, Joseph Franklin Rutherford, and Nathan Homer Knorr.[1][2][3] Since 1976 all doctrinal decisions have been made by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses,[4] a group of elders at the denomination's headquarters. These teachings are disseminated through The Watchtower magazine and other publications of Jehovah's Witnesses, and at conventions and congregation meetings"
It would seem pretty much a man made rather new religion.

Re: Do Jehovah Witnesses believe Jesus was divine
Post #13[Replying to post 12 by polonius]
Yes we do believe Jesus was divine.

Why? Because he began life in heaven as THE WORD a perfect spirit reflection of his Father Jehovah (YHWH).

Re: A new religion?
Post #14This is not a debate forum. I have explained the origins of our religion clearly in my opening post (see link).polonius wrote: So the Jehovah Witness was established in 1879, right? That makes it pretty new on the religion scene doesn't it?

Our religion is not "man-made" as it owes it existence to scripture which in turn owes its existence to God. If there were no scriptures Russell could not have set up a group to examine scripture and if there were no Jesus, the group could not have gone on to organise their christian activity.polonius wrote:It would seem pretty much a man made ... religion.

RESPONSE:
1. All scripture was written by men. God did not write anything.
2. Once upon a time:
"Long before the Bible was written, The Flood was a blockbuster of the ancient Mesopotamian and Mediterranean worlds. It originated in Sumer over 4000 years ago. New versions were deposited in the greatest imperial libraries of the Mesopotamian empires (Babylonia and Assyria). The Biblical authors fashioned their own versions of the tale, and post-biblical authors continued to ruminate on its potential for meaning-making. The Flood found its proper place in Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, and flood stories crop up in Hindu, American Indian, and African story-telling as well."
3. Do you feel that you can logically support the Jehovah Witness belief system, or are you uncomfortable doing so.
4. Perhaps we can examine it further.

My comfort level is nobodys business but my own. I've over 13,000 posts on this forum a good many of them in defense of the bible. See LINK below for a selection.

That said, this is not a debate subforum and my beliefs are not open to debate even if it were. I'm happy to explain our beliefs but it is no secret that the entire Jehovahs Witness system bible based. We believe scripture owes its existence to God and whether others find that logical or illogical is of little concern to us.
Was there anything else you wanted to ask about Jehovah's Witnesses?

All JWs will be sluaghtered when Jesus returns because you all worship Satan and the creeping things and demons you insert in every picture in your magazines and books.
You are like the Jews in the windowless room that Ezekiel found in Ezekiel 8.
