The time spent as member to Debating... is a trap?

I feel we should have a system in place that also gives a little protection to seasoned members (not to say donators as well) because it is fact that as time goes by you are likely to be warned more and more...

What say you? How should such a system be designed? 10 years, 5 warnings before banning?

How about "within the past year or three," ignoring earlier issues that weren't serious enough to get someone banned.
