Why do you get on this web site?

If you are not a christian, why do you spend so much time trying to prove it wrong?

I didn't think I spent that much time on the subject. I am not even sure that I have proven it (or any other religion) wrong.

I enjoy debate. It is hard to find reasonable theists to debate with. This site seems to have many theists that have thought out their position and religions.

Dose this belong in this section. Maybe it would be better in the general section.

It's not just a position. It is either true or not true, can't be both. :confused2:

Does that mean you think christians should be trying to disprove their own religion?

On a more serious note I think you mistake questioning the validity of it with trying to disprove it. Much like you have on this site among others tried to disprove evolution, is it wrong to do so? Of course not, or at least I certainly hope this is the case. Anything that can not stand up to questioning regardless of what the idea is probably shouldn't be followed. Consider it the evolution of ideas.

Would you prefer it if noone ever questioned things? Sure ignorance is bliss, but it also doesn't get you anywhere.

Oh, so you are on here to learn about Christianity? If not, why do you spend so much time trying to disprove something that you think isn't real? I have plenty of reason to try and disprove Evolution, and other religion, but you have no reason at all to want to disprove Christianity, unless you are trying to make yourself feel better about rejecting it? :-k

There is not a religion out there that is falsifiable because most are based on metaphysical entities and science has no way of detecting such things. For me debating these issues is both entertaining and at times educational. It is interesting to me to try to understand the perspectives of others.
Personally I consider it minorly insulting and hypocritical on your part when you suggest it is fine and dandy for you to question things but not others. What I question most is when people claim the bible is a scientific text or literally true throughout, no matter how ridiculous that makes them seem.

Did I say anything was? Even a simple statement like, "I am a white female." ,contains something true and something wrong. I am white but not female. If the female part makes the whole statement wrong then all I would have to do is find one thing wrong with the bible to prove the whole thing wrong. Would you really want to throw the baby out with the bath water?

Thanks. I didn't think this was much of a debate topic. More of a conversation. Besides, hasn't this been covered already? Searching is your friend.
