The second half of the 10 commandments seem to follow a similar patter. They say what you should not do:
You shall not murder
You shall not commit adultery
You shall not steal
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor
You shall not covet your neighbor's house, you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.
-----
I am aware that the wages of all sin is death, but I do believe I've read somewhere that there are different severities of sin. Is there any backing to say that these are ordered in terms of severity?

The tiniest sin, if there is one, puts a non-elect in hell and puts Christ on the cross for an elect. All sin therefore has an ultimate disvalue before GOD.
PCE Theology as I see it...
We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.
This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

I'd say the Catholic Philosophy of The Purgatory is a confirmation that there are minor sins that do not put you in Hell (unreasonably), but something you must pay for still in the Purgatory.

Post #4Yes, the distinction between mortal and venial sins. I believe the letter of James contains support for this position.Aetixintro wrote: [Replying to post 1 by jgh7]

My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.
