Over 150 people dead in Paris attacks

French television and news services quoted the police as saying that around 100 people had been killed at a concert site where hostages had been held during a two-hour standoff with the police, and that perhaps dozens of others had been killed in apparently coordinated attacks outside the countryâ€™s main sports stadium and four other popular locations in the city. But estimates on the total number of dead varied.

These atrocities hurt Islam in general and must be hard on peace loving
Muslims.
People, non Muslims, distrust Muslims in general and feel it's difficult to know who
is a law abiding follower of Islam and who is a murdering Muslim terrorist committing
murder in the name of Allah.

A peace loving muslim is no muslim. A muslim must love war so that he can forfill the duties given to him/her in the Quran by their "prophet" Muhammed.

Muhammed was a warlord who conquered cities with his barbaric army in 600 AD. He murdered civilians, raped and killed so that he could form his Caliphate. He then wrote the Quran and in many versus he FORCES muslims to wage war against all enemies of Islam.

Peace loving muslims are heretics who have NOT read the Quran or the Hadiths. A muslim resisting war is like a Christian denying that Christ ever existed. Heretics.

Islam is not foremost a religion, it is a political system for ruling and conquering enemies.

A few versus from the Quran:

Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not."

Quran (3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority".

Quran (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"

Quran (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah"

War War War. No peace. Peaceful muslim. What a joke.

Religions across the world aren't equal when it comes to violence and war, that's for sure. Jain folks avoid walking on grass because it may harm the plants and tiny critters that live in it, Buddhists are famous for passivity (they're REALLY famous when they get violent). Then we have the Abrahamic religions, which started out warring with neighboring tribes. First Jews seemed to abandon warring and violence, then more recently Christianity has, but Islam . . . hardly a religion of 'peace'. Individual Muslims, sure, but it's a religion with warring and violence built into the weft.

I appreciate Sam Harris's writings and talks on Islam, harsh as they are. Knowing Harris is a progressive/liberal and refuses to toe the party line on the left (who attribute terrorism as being somewhat deserved) gives his analysis more weight IMO. It sure differentiates the political hacks from the real thinkers.

I can't imagine what it must be like to be eating in a restaurant on a Friday evening, and have a gunman come in and spray the patrons with bullets. You'd never be the same afterward . . . it would be like innocence lost. It's like ISIS is begging someone to punch their ticket, and they're probably going to get their wish . . .

What could be done that wouldn't take out the innocent Muslims, or their children who have no choice in the matter? Either way, it can't happen too soon. I have to hope those making the big decisions know a helluva lot more than I do about how to handle this.

"Handling it" is probably laughable way to put it.

Hold it! Why is no one contesting the assertion that Islam is not a religion? Oh yah, that must only be appropriate when talking about Christianity.
