Insomnia sucks

Man I wish sometimes I wasn't a former addict and could take sleeping pills. Oh well, is what it is. Just frustrating times especially when you are warping up school.

Insomnia is easily one of the most frustrating things to deal with. Especially if it lasts Years! I had to cope with that.

But, what can one do?

One thing that was noticed through some studies by investigating some more primative cultures is that although, to the surprise of the scientists, light (or lack there of), didn't effect their sleeping habits, but a drop in temperature caused them to go to sleep.

Maybe if you turn down the thermostat, you could kick that cycle in.

If you can't cure insomnia the best thing you can do would be to try to find some useful or enjoyable activity that you can do while you are awake at night.

I struggle falling asleep too. The one thing that helps me fall asleep is to watch ASMR videos on youtube. They are very relaxing, and they are meant to give you those enjoyable tingles you sometimes feel in the back of your head when watching someone doing something relaxing.

Ill give that a try I really wish I could afford a sensory deprivation tank, actually looking into how I can build my own or get it made to an extent.

I have a different approach to sleep (as most things). Since my use of time is not dependent upon external schedules, I sleep when sleepy or physically tired -- regardless of the hour. As time stamps on posts indicate, there is little or no pattern or regularity (and often reflects whether anything interesting has been posted).

I do a lot of writing and quite often when I lie down in bed or kick back in the recliner I'm composing something to write. Occasionally that becomes "good stuff" that requires getting back to the computer (which can extend to a couple hours). That done it is time to sleep (unless other ideas come to mind).

Of course, this cannot apply if external schedules are important, but it works for me and has for decades.

It is harder the more civilization I am around lol I love people but not the busyness of modern society. The external stimuli seem to overwhelm.
