This has happened to me more than enough times. I write a very long reply to someone, I post it.. and I'm logged out, lost the whole thing.
I there ANY recovery available?
I've lost about12 hours on this problem.. I tell myself to always copy the text... but I forget.. trusting that I won't be logged out.. this JUST happened to me for the THIRD time on the SAME post.. I'm getting to be quite the expert on that reply.

Can you hit the back button?
This happens to me as well if my login has timed out while I am writing a response. I just hit the back button (bringing back to the previous screen and my text still in the comment box), then copy/paste my text, then hit submit again, then log in, then paste the text back into the comment box of the thread i was working on, then post.
Voila!
Peace to you!

BC, I avoid that problem by composing every reply in a word processor document (including this one) before pasting it into the Forum text box. Not only does that avoid losing work to a glitch in the internet or the Forum, but it also provides a record of all my responses.
The back function may work as Tam says – but I prefer the other.

PCE Theology as I see it...
We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.
This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

Post #7If you use the word processor technique (I do) make sure you post the reply in the right thread. I am getting famous with Z for asking for posts to be deleted because I put them in the wrong place. But then I have been known to search for my glasses for several minutes before realizing I am wearing them.Blastcat wrote: [Replying to post 1 by Blastcat]

I just finished a great post.. at least in my opinion.. lost it.Lion IRC wrote: Have you ever used the 'save as draft' function?
Works for me. Quick and easy.
I used the saved as draft option as you mentioned.
It sent me right to the sign in page.
I signed in
It didn't save to draft.
So, that idea.. is only good BEFORE I get secretly logged off for some unknown reason.

So when you press "save as draft" not only does it fail to save the draft but it also logs you out, rather than taking you back to the front page menu????Blastcat wrote:I just finished a great post.. at least in my opinion.. lost it.Lion IRC wrote: Have you ever used the 'save as draft' function?

My drafts save OK and they are right there at the top of the "View your drafts and posts" menu.
Drafts appear in a separate section just above completed posts.
Could be time to chat to admin about your unexpected auto log-out problem.

The 'secret log off' may simply be getting timed out for inactivity. (Anyone know how long that is?) If you use Back a few times you should be able to get to a page with your text on it so you can copy it.Then go Forward to where you are logged on and paste. I think someone already mentioned this someplace above.Blastcat wrote:I just finished a great post.. at least in my opinion.. lost it.Lion IRC wrote: Have you ever used the 'save as draft' function?

This kind of thing is why I use a word processor to build posts.
