"Creation Museum" to be built in Cincinnati

If this is more that just a stunt then it looks as if the the world will be treated to it's first "supernatural history museum" adjusted to take into account the literal biblical interpretation of a Young Earth.

According to the guided walkthrough visitors will be able to:
Peer back into the deepest recesses of the heavens, and discover that the latest images of the stars confirm an all powerful Creator, not a random bang!
Imagine soaring cypress trees, the sounds of waterfalls and children playing with dinosaurs! What other surprises await?
Everywhere you turn, science confirms the biblical account! As you explore, children can scurry off into the section ‘just for kids,’ where they interact with displays of exotic living animals and learn more about the Master Designer.
My guess is that if this becomes a reality and a commercial success it is highly likely to be copied in other states. I would like to see some debate here as to the likely effects of the emergence of creationism in public places such as this. Will it remain a curiosity for most people or will it catalyse the population into beliefs that remain at odds with those held in other developed nations?

Good to see that they are using the most up-to-date sources of information
This genuine leather-bound limited edition of Ussher's masterpiece, Annals of the World, is available only by a donation to the Creation Museum.
Their headlines read like supermarket tabloids Methuselah's hands found!. I'll bet that lots of people will fall for this.
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
First Epistle to the Church of the Thessalonians
The truth will make you free.
Gospel of John

It sounds like a money maker. I bet Jesus would have a field day turning over cash registers and stuff. I think it is great. I wanted to turn the whole middle east into a theme park. Hotel, pools, dinning of all the different foods, Rides, You could have show and reenactments. people caring the ark and getting killed all show of course. The people could all live together running the places and working together as actors and servers, and kings. It would be great. The Arabs would need the Jews Jews would need Egyptians and people from Iraq. Do some ancient Summer themes with their Gods. It would be great, people making money,
Play fights and wars. It could spread to Roman times with all different periods, the Celts every one.
It would be like heaven if they have shuffle board.

I read the clip of Methuselah’s hands, interesting. I wonder if Methuselah was killed in the flood? I mean it say's when he dies it will come but maybe it was it will come and he dies. I wonder if Adam talked a lot about how he lost the farm. Looking at Eve every day wondering what is for supper, rubbing his side, and showing the kids his scar. Cain running around yelling I got a mark ,I got a mark. Every one else wondering what he was talking about.
The Horus strangles the serpent Set and ends up with a bruised heel.

This will be bad for creationism. Creationism only survives by not making claims. Even here they never tell us what they actually believe, only that science if wrong. Try getting a group of creationists to agree on a date for the Creation. 4004BC? Nope, they won't agree nor disagree with that date.

So, when they start putting things into a museum they have to make actual statements. And once they've made a statement people are free to question it. Not scientists, but other creationists. Since religion breeds division, any statement they make will be offensive to some subset of creationists.

Once someone opens the pandoras box of questioning the displays in a museum, creationism will disappear.

just one of the problems with the authoritarian personality. They are always right and they will find something that isn't Christian or Biblical with-in. It won't be long before they are beating each other up with Methuselah’s hands.

So you should be all for this. The bell tolls for Creationism.

I am fully in support of this.

It's a general principle of rationalism that it is the free exchange of ideas that allows us to separate the true from the false.

Jose will tell you, I am sure, that it is easy to teach science in a laboratory class where students can test and observe science for themselves. It is impossible to teach creationism this way. Even if you jury-rigged every excercise the spirit of open enquiry would lead them to the falsification of their own ideas.
