Why god?

Post by Carl123 »

The title is realy the question:)

Why do you choose a god? or why did he choose you.
Either way...

I prefer the answer to why you choose to belive, and especially the feelings behind. But a answer to eny/both is good to.

Im agnostic - And that i am because i feel like no one should call themself atheist.
Reason being one cant say god is not whit certainty (100 percent) just like one cant santa/fairies/trolls are not (100 percent).

I FEEL like proof and understanding is a must and i cant see it. ---

What feelings makes you see "proof" i do not? (i realise its a VERY VERY wide questions and can vary)

I feel drawn to religion (don't be flattered ^^ ) but it is because of the good thinks (and thats what i think personally is good, again open ended) ---

Can i feel that for the good thinks only whitout it being a power of god pushing me toward him or it being a power of god? ---

Who controls your life god or you? ---

Regards
Carl

I think you can only choose a God if you have an agenda other than belief.

For me believing in God is not a matter of choice, I do because of who I am and the life I’ve had, where I live, who I’ve spoken to, what I have read seen and felt, and so on and so on.
You can however choose a religion from a big list of those available or to have no religion at all.
In my view religions are mans attempt to monopolise God or to control populations, either with good intentions or bad.
In any case if there is one true God and you believe regardless of your religion you are all praying to the same one.
If my view is correct you may just as well choose a religious group on its social merits or stay away from it all and proclaim yourself to be an atheist.

My answer would have to be; Given that I could choose I would be an atheist, because it’s easier than being a theist.
If I am honest to myself I cannot choose this so I am stuck with a God whose nature I will never know.

:confused2:
\"Give me a good question over a good answer anyday.\"
