Hi, to whoever reads this. I'm Alana. Some things about me that might interest you (or not).
* I'm new to the forum but not to religious debate.
* I am a very out LGBT activist.
* My career was media including radio news and talk, now more of a hobby than anything else.
* I am formerly Catholic, then Baptist, then Pentecostal Holiness before I said f all of it.
* "Born again" when I was 15. And I meant it [for all you who like to say I was "never saved."]
* Tried to live a "Godly Christian life" for many years while struggling with my sexuality.
* Have children from those years of trying to live a "Godly Christian life."
* Presently an eclectic pagan, though I don't take any of it too seriously.
* Had a close encounter with death seven years ago, which made me ultimately leave Christianity behind because I was sick of being constantly worried about hell due to my struggles with sexuality.
* I tolerate religious people as much as they tolerate me.
* Known for my frequent and unabashed mocking of religious zealots who think it's their right to judge me, slander me and legislate their morality on me.
* Known to stealthily frequent intolerant churches so I get an inside scoop on what they're up to.
* Have a burning desire to shove bullhorns up the arses of religious zealots who show up to preach their hate at gay pride parades.
* Yes I am capable of civil debate despite my fiery celtic nature.
* Have come to realize that many people just don't get me and the way I approach a topic because they just aren't mentally capable.
* I'm not as stuck up as you probably now think, but yes I do believe stupid people exist. In great numbers in fact. Some of them even frequent message boards.
* My strong compassionate side often stops my celtic fiery side from making stupid people feel bad about being stupid.
* I will often say something seemingly absurd or contradictory in order to make a point. Many people don't understand this. See above.
* I'm not afraid to admit when I am wrong.

Welcome to the forum. You will find this is a very varied group of people here, and I think you will have fun talking about things.
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?
