There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger

Hi, this question is posted in regards to the Muslim friends who comes to the forums here.

Often do I hear Muslim declare: ašhadu ʾan laa ilha illa (A)llh, wa ʾašhadu ʾanna Muḥammada(n) rasūlo (A)llh (أشهد أن لا إله إلاَّ الله و أشهد أن محمدا رسول ال), which should mean as the topic above. I am wondering why there is a special recognition of Muhammad?

I do know in Islam the Prophet Muhammad is considered the last prophet of Islam and the restorer of the uncorrupted original monotheistic faith and all that, but what about the other prophets? Why does it not say "and Adem is his First Prophet" or "and Ibrahim is the First Imam" or "and Isa is the Messiah" or something like that?

Or is it just not said because the recitation would be too long?

Because if you said (sentence of Islam) you already believed all that...

I mean the (sentence Of Islam) contain all the meaning in the holy Quran and sunnah and If you take the holy Quran you can find all information you took about it

Very good question, i hope i can answer it from the best of my knowledge.

Every prophet in islam(abrahamic) has been sent to a specific race or culture of people, moses(pbuh) jesus(pbuh) noah(pbuh) etc etc...

But Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has been sent to the whole of humanity. And his messege was not just for the arabs, but for the human race, and if we look at the other prophets they have been sent for their own people.

I cannot know for sure, i suggest you ask this same question to a more knowledgable muslim, but i think its because of that reason.

Hi Murad,

I don't think that reason makes much sense, because if Muhammad was sent to the whole of mankind, then why is only about 15% (1,3 Billion) of the world muslim?
Surely God, being omnipotent and omniscient, knew that Muhammad wasn't going to reach the whole world?
Why is Islam stilll chasing christianity in terms of numbers?
Couldn't an omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient being get his message to the people of earth in a faster, better way?

Yes, obviously an omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient being can get his message faster to the whole human race.

Its simple, god gave his word to his prophets and messengers and it was their task to spread the knowledge, you see, we are free in this world and god gave us the most significant gift which sets us apart from other creations(angels, jins), the gift of choice. It was the prophets job of delivering the messege and its ours to decide whether it is the truth.

Lets be lateral, if god made the last prophet on the other side of the world, would it reach the whole world? obviously not, no matter where the geographic position of the prophet not everybody would get the messege.
