Just wanted to drop a few lines and say hello to everyone. I really enjoy theology and debate, so why not mix the two! :D I can't wait to delve into the topics of the day! Hope to talk to some of you soon!

Welcome! Glad to have you with us.

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.

Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.

There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.

Thanks guys! I have enjoyed the forum intensely so far! So, OnceConvinced, what part of New Zealand are you from (if you dont mind my asking)? I love NZ. I have only been there once, but I stayed for three weeks. It was amazing! I am hoping to retire there, if life goes according to plan...but you know how that goes! ;)

I'm from Hamilton. spent most of my life around that area, although did live for a few years down in Auckland and also near New Plymouth near Mt Taranaki. When I retire I'd like to move back down there.

New Plymouth was gorgeous! I got to climb Mt. Taranaki when I was down there. Its a great compact town. I love the beaches there too, the way the rocks just jut out of the sand and ocean, its better than panoramic. I also enjoyed the way CentreCity is right there too, so its rural and picturesque but you can enjoy the city life as well. I have to admit tho, I am a Wellington and Christchurch fan myself, they both boast wonderful architecture.

Yep, it pretty much has everything. I get to visit there quite a lot because my parents are now living back down there.

Welcome! I can't wait to have our debates!
