Hello everyone

Hello everyone, I'm new here.

You may consider me to be an infidel, unbeliever, kaffir, atheist, evolutionist, liar et al ( I have been called much more - and worse) by people throughout my time. :)

I consider myself to be a freethinker.

I'm looking forward to participating in some of the threads. It's likely that I will lurk for a while until I find some topic where I believe that I can contribute to the discussion.

C U round! :D

Welcome to the forum.

On this forum, it doesn't matter what you are. Only thing we really ask is civility. If you can do that, you're good to go.

I know very few, aside from my mother-in-law, who do not consider themselves to be freethinking.

Funnel weaver. Nasty critter - aggressive and a potent venom to boot.

Ahhhh 'tis a fascinating beastie to boot. Other than insects, the venom (atraxotoxin) is lethal to primates and mice - no other mammal. A true 'wonder' of evolution.

Hi catalyst ;) It's pretty quiet - but I'm sure I'll find somewhere to contribute!

Welcome Altrax. Glad to have you with us.

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.

Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.

There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
