Question about Jesus

Post by nirvanakat »

I have a strange question...

If Jesus himself was Jewish, when did he himself first actually believe that he was the son of God?

Think about yourself. When did you realized that you are a human being? meaning that you and your dog are two different creatures? The same with Jesus.

I think the information is not there to even answer such a question. We just don't and can't know unless Jesus himself told you and good luck persuading any one he answered.
Mark might lead us to believe it was at his baptism where God told him he was his son and the reference is to David's throne and royal ideology where God adopts the King as his son.
The other gospels tell the baptism differently and John doesn't bother with it.
Luke has some story where Jesus sis a boy in the temple but it may have been borrowed from Josephus.
Know one knows and unless we find the diary of Jesus and he mentions it we will never know.

Buaaahahahahahaha... That's pretty good! I might use it in one of my homilies!

Here it is modified for a Sunday morning:

When did Jesus decided to reveal himself as the Son of God to his disciples?
When he realized what a carpenter's salary was!

I don't think Jesus ever thought that his relationship to God was any different than what was possible for any other human being.

Luke 2:41-50 records an incident when Jesus was 12 years old when he referred to the temple as his Father's house, so he had obviously learned it sometime before then.
