Hello,
I stumbled upon this forum and was intrigued, so I signed up. I am an Atheist and am very much interested in intelligent discussion and debate with believers.
I may come across as brash and abrasive at times, but this is simply a side effect of usually cutting straight to the point without much special consideration of overly trying to not offend. If I offend you at some point, I apologize in advance, it isn't my intent.

Welcome.
You might also review Tips on how to remain civil while debating.
With practice you can learn to be direct and honest without appearing brash and abrasive. Hey, let's be careful out there.

If you fail to show respect, you may have difficulty getting intelligent debate. The overriding principle on this forum is respect. Respect for others is of high importance here. Also, building respect among fellow debaters will get you far.

Welcome to the forum Jason. I look forward to seeing you on the boards. I think you will find that if you stick around long enough, you will discover a lot of intelligent debates with believers and nonbelievers for that matter.
My only suggestion to you would be to read through some of the posts by members before you respond to them. You will find that we have a diverse population here and beliefs are not always what you may first assume them to be. A persons position on something may have nothing to do with their belief or nonbelief. By reviewing a few of their past posts, you will get a feel for how they communicate and can avoid reading what they write the wrong way. Unlike verbal debates, here, we lack the intonation of the voice so posts can easily be misinterpreted if you aren't familiar with the poster.
That being said, the grammar cop will make himself known quickly, the preachers will as will those who like to present fallacies more than debates. And in the process, hopefully you learn as well as teach.

I guess. Are they a band or something. I googled it and got entirely too many hits to want to sort it out.McCulloch wrote:McCulloch wrote:Hey, let's be careful out there.I guess that you're too young to remember Hill Street Blues.Confused wrote:Said the cat to the mouse :yapyap:

It's a tv cop show that ran in the early to mid 80's.Confused wrote:I guess. Are they a band or something. “What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?
