Site got hacked

Post by otseng »

The site experienced its first major hack this morning around 7 AM (EST). All the posts got corrupted and forum settings were modified. I have restored the site to the last monthly backup. So, unfortunately, all posts and new members since Aug 9 are lost. I'm currently trying to figure out how the hacker got in. In the meantime, the site might continue to experience problems until a patch is done.

I can't even remember registering with this site, although, I am not saying I haven't, but I found the same email in my generic, used only for registering on forums e-mail account. I had to reregister under a totally new name as I could not for the life of me remember ever registering here. I doubt I had ever posted, I just felt the need to express my hope that you all find out who did this to you and to offer whatever help I can be. Although I doubt I can be of any help. Good luck everyone, and may this hacker get what's coming to them.
Good news, I may check you out now and again, and who knows, I might even have something to say. :D
Take care and good luck all.

Yeah, I noticed that too. But I didn't think much of it since I'm not the superstitious type. O:)

Strange Emails

Post by mrkite1977 »

I received an email from a cyber-nigg3r@hotmail.co.uk saying my information has been leaked and I can contact him at the above address. Is this the hacker? What does this email mean? Also, what should I do and do I need to do anything in response to this email?

Hi, Otseng,

I did not receive issue 13. However, I did receive an e-mail from the guilty party.

My original name slipped my mind along with my password . . . until I registered and viewed the member list.

Do we need to do something with my old moniker?

Yes, this is the hacker.

The email doesn't mean much. If you wish, you can change your email and/or password.

Also, a tipster found where wookie boasts of hacking this site on cyber-niggers forum. He has an interesting intro here.

I noticed his site boasts a whopping . . . . get READY . . . 10 whole members.

at their peak they had a huge 6 people online at once. LOL.
It is a first class human tragedy that people of the earth who claim to believe in the message of Jesus, whom they describe as the Prince of Peace, show little of that belief in actual practice.

Not everyone from Liverpool acts like this, trust me. Most have a better command of spelling and grammar too. Nice way to advertise our city. Sigh.
