Question for Debate: Why, and how, does the muntjac deer have only seven pairs of chromosomes?
Please don't look this up, at least until you've considered for a moment how weird this is. Imagine you have 20 pairs of chromosomes, and you have a baby that has sixteen pairs. He shouldn't be able to breed with the rest of your species.
Is this at least weird? A regular deer has around 40-70 chromosomes. Is it at least strange that he can even be alive having lost that much genetic information? One more halving and he'll be a fruit fly (they have 4 pairs).

Post #162Marke: I disagree. The Bible tells us that God created fully developed life forms that Adam named. That is not consistent with the speculations that life forms slowly evolved from some single 'simple' common ancestral life form. The Barbarian wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 3:05 pmSince the Biblical record of God's creation is consistent with evolution, and specifically asserts abiogenesis, this is a problem for YE creationism, not science. Post #164I stand corrected (thanks Jose Fly).Jose Fly wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 5:13 pm I've seen Marke in other Christian message boards for years, so unless someone is spoofing him specifically, I think that's legitimately him.
IMO what you're seeing is the result of something I've been saying for years now....it's impossible to advocate for creationism in an honest manner. Believing in creationism is one thing, but to actually go out and advocate for it requires so much denial of reality that it's just not possible to do so honestly.
However, I am correct about this posters failure to understand provided definitions (what evolution is and how it doesn't address life beginning for one example) and that they struggle with the quote system. I have amended my thinking and no longer believe they do this specifically to vilify Christians in general.
(In my defense, I was away for a week and catching up on a weeks worth of these posts was painful and is what guided my incorrect thinking that this person was a wolf in sheep's clothing. My mistake and I have corrected this.)

Re: Should at Least Make Evolutionists Consider
Post #165It also mentions talking animals, conjuring up fishes/loaves, a man living in a fish for days and many decomposing bodies getting out of their graves to walk the streets of Jerusalem. The Bible teaches all sorts of things, so what is your point?
That is not racism.
What was and you completely failed to address was:
"well into the 1990s, prominent creationists like ICR co-founder Henry Morris was publishing racist nonsense about the supposed intellectual and spiritual inferiority of black people."
Why do fail to address what was actually brought up?
Let's grant this for a moment. Please make a point or just admit you are struggling and offering random ramblings in place of making debate points.Evolution teaches us that humans descended from stupid animals and have developed traits that differ in ways that are as as distinct as the differences between various animals in their assumed ancestral lineage.
This is a weak emotional argument that means nothing, other than the fact that you didn't think it through. Let's grant for the sake of debate that Hitler and American racists accept evolution and forget that people that are not Hitler, nor racist also accept evolution. Evolution is a fact no matter who accepts it. What odd and emotional arguments you make!No wonder evolution was celebrated by the likes of Hitler and American racists.

Re: Should at Least Make Evolutionists Consider
Post #166Again you equate evolution with atheism, despite the fact that the vast majority of "evolutionists" are theists.
The only question now is whether that reality matters to you or if you instead prefer a comforting delusion (and maybe why you find "evolution = atheism" comforting).

Yep. And if it helps, Marke has posted in this manner (repetitive empty assertions...like a bumper sticker) as long as I've seen him in these types of forums. However, I am correct about this posters failure to understand provided definitions (what evolution is and how it doesn't address life beginning for one example) and that they struggle with the quote system. In the early 1960s, Henry Morris revolutionized the young earth creationist world with his seminal work, The Genesis Flood. Morris unleashed what is today referred to as a “creationist renaissance” and became the father of modern young earth creationism. He was also racist—and he grounded his racism in his young earth creationist beliefs.

"Often the Hamites, especially the Negroes, have become actual personal servants or even slaves to the others. Possessed of a genetic character concerned mainly with mundane matters, they were eventually displaced by the intellectual and philosophical acumen of the Japhethites and the religious zeal of the Semites.”
(Henry Morris The Beginning of the World, 1998)
This is a problem. Silence is not enough. Young earth creationists need to acknowledge and disavow the racism of creationism’s founding father.
This silence is not healthy.

For some reason I do not think we will see this happening any time soon.
No, none of that is in evolutionary theory. It confirms that there are no biological human races today, in contrast to the views of the founders of YE creationism who argued that non-whites are genetically inferior to whites. See above. I'm glad that you don't hold on to that founding doctrine of YE creationism. But there it is.
No wonder YE creationism was celebrated by American racists. Hitler rejected evolutionary theory because Darwinists like Reginald Punnett showed that the racial beliefs of Hitler and Henry Morris were completely wrong. And he showed that the eugenic schemes of people like YE creationist Dr. Edward Tinkel were not feasible.
