I am currently residing at Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia.
Having been brought up to consider myself as a christian, I found that what had been explained to me from the bible did not make any logical sense. I discussed issues from the bible with a friend at school that was looking to become a priest within the catholic church. As well as from other discussions about the christian religion, I realised that many of the beliefs purported to be teachings within the bible were actually contradictory.
For instance, Jesus is supposed to be the 'Prince of Peace', yet this quote shows otherwise .....
Luke 19:27 - [Jesus speaking]
But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
So, here I am, willing to discuss and debate the inconsistencies and contradictions of the christian religion.
G'day

"Paradise" is going well thank you very much, but as you would know this time of year it's fraught with "migraters" of the teen persuasion, which always makes the locals a tad nervous! lol So far so good though, but I think that has more to do with the crackdowns on the "toolies" not being able to access specific "schoolies" events.I AM ALL I AM wrote:G'day Catalyst.
Thanks for the welcome.
How is 'Paradise' ???
I haven't been up that way for donkeys years.
How is Port? I have not driven that far south for many years now. I used to love the place though when I was a kid. It was usually a "break spot" when we used to head from Sydney to stay with rellies in Lismore for school hols.
Anyway look forward to interacting with you on other threads as well and will keep an eye out for your posts.

Hi I Am All I Am! Welcome. Sorry if I'm late to the party, but I haven't been around much lately. Hope you enjoy it here.

I've had a new perspective of the bible recently. I got around to watching a documentary that I downloaded quite a while ago - Ring Of Power; The Empire Of The City. There's a link to it on google here .....

I liked it so much that I burnt up a copy of it.

I look forward to chatting with you around the forum.

I avoid the news (and TV in general), so I haven't heard about schoolies or what's been happening. I suppose it's a time to stay a home while they run a muck.
Port is getting to populated, like most of the north coast of NSW. It has lost a lot of the charm it used to have, although the beaches are still as beautiful as ever. Apparently 75% of the land here is owned by the catholic church, so that says a lot really.

Still, I could be in Sydney, so no complaints here.

It's an eternal party, so there are no late comers.

That's the thing, this year it has been pretty much a non event when years prior to this one, the issues were huge and as a result we have been able to just do day to day stuff! lolG'day Catalyst.

Oh it is happening in QLD too... everyone migrating a little further north to afford a piece of "paradise" which, I have to say coastal Aust IS. Places like Bundaberg are now the "new" elite! lol Can you believe that?Port is getting to populated, like most of the north coast of NSW. LOL I hear you! I am reluctant to go back there these days as the "vibe" of the place now, is so different to when I was a kid and a young adult. After living up here for so long, I find down there, the "air" is so stifled... condensed..near asphixiating on many levels.Still, I could be in Sydney, so no complaints here.

G'day Catalyst.
Well, apart from earning rent and building a new School/College to indoctrinate even more children than they already do, I'm not 100% certain what the catholic church are doing with rest of the land that they stole ... ooops, I mean own.
Obviously they aren't giving it away for people to live on.
Yeah, Sydney is a suffocating metropolis of corporate drones going about the business of making the corporations more money, with few people thinking of anything more than what the next entertainment of their bored existence will be.
You can tell that I'm not into city living anymore.
After having lived in Sydney for around 25 years, London, Cardiff, Birmingham, for other periods, I think that I've definitely had my fill of cities.

G'day Justifyothers.
Considering that the earth has been here for 500 million years or so, your welcome, while much appreciated, could not be considered late in comparison to that time frame.
So it's all good and I look forward to discussing topics with you around the forum also.
