When you get some time, and you want to give the little grey cells a workout, you might want to give this a try:
The following is loosely based on Dan Barker's Easter Challenge:
Taking Matthew 28:1-10, Mark 16:1-10, Luke 24:1-12 and John 20:1-18 and using every verse from the above intermingle them into a single chronological list from the first event to the last.
Some verses can be shown in tandem when they are referring to the same event at the same time.

I think Joh starts from the moment they see the tomb open, they "saw the stone had been removed from the tomb". Mark and Matthew tells things that happened before it. [/quote]
Well, let's see:
John 20:1 - "On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb."
Mark 16:2 - "Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen."
Mark 16:3 - "And they said among themselves, who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?"
Mark 16:4 - "But when they looked up they saw that the stone had been rolled away - for it was very large"
In the John account Mary M. saw the stone rolled away from the door while it was still dark. In the Mark account the sun had risen when they saw it had been rolled away. Thus, John 20:1 should come before the Mark account.

What is there which makes it necessary to find a way to not accept the two accounts at face value?

#Some hours later, a group of women set out very early, before dawn intent on revisiting the grave ( Mat 28:1; Luke 24:1); their intention being to better treat the body with the extra herbs they had bought Saturday evening ( Mark 16:1). Unaware of the night's events they wonder who will roll the stone away for them to access the corpse ( Mark 16:3).
#Mary who may have started from a different set out point (or have left earlier) is the first to arrive at the grave in the pre-dawn darkness ( John 20:1). She sees the stone already rolled away and the tomb empty. Mary immediately leaves the grave running back to tell Peter and John ( John 20:2a).
#The rest of the women arrive at her heels or some minutes after at daybreak ( Mark 16:2). Like Mary they are equally puzzled that the stone has been displaced ( Mark 16:4; Luke 24:2) and the tomb is empty ( Luke 24:3). Possibly wandering back out, unlike decisive Mary , they stay near the grave unsure of what to do.
What TIME of day did the women first visit the tomb?

Post #15In my opinion nothing. I just think it is wrong to assume there could not be dark, even if sun had just risen. I have seen there can be dark in the morning, even when the sun has just risen.

First you say nothing, and then say that you think it is wrong to assume......"
There has to be something in the accounts to make something click in you to consider that in the first place.

Post #17For to think sunrise and darkness are not possible at the same time, there should be something in the scriptures supporting it.

Obviously, I haven't been able to explain myself on this.
