Is Kinky Sex Wrong?

Post by Merv »

I've heard people say that kinky sex is a perversion of God's design for sex. But then again, I've also heard a few people say that anything can go in the bedroom so long as it's still between the married man and the woman.

I don't think the Bible ever stated that kinky sex between married people is bad. Does the Bible even state that general lust between married people is bad for that matter?

So where's the real truth of that? Is kinky sex wrong?

I believe that the levitical laws apply only to the Jews! ;)

I think that some forms of 'Kinky Sex' is just wrong, e.g., Sadomascochism! If people enjoy being tortured then they'll most likely get their request granted in the eternal fires of hell where they can scream all they want. God intended us to love each other, not spank, whip and tie each other up and blindfold them.

Where is that stated?

You are correct that most Christians believe that God's rules are seldom universal. Common Christian theology does exclude these rules from being binding on the faithful today.
My point, however, was that this particular rule seems to indicate that the God believes that sex should only be for procreation. Not proof per se, but an indication of God's will. The burden of proof now seems to be on those who would claim otherwise.

I've met some people into S&M. They actually seemed to have very close, stable relationships. I think their sex life requires quite a bit of communication and trust, maybe more so than the average couple. I don't know. In any case, they were good people.

Paul says that the Marriage bed is undefiled which pretty much means anything goes as long as it is consensual.

What made you come to that conclusion?

Ok, let's face it:

People do all kinds of things (sexually) that have little to nothing to do with making a "baby".

With sex, I think there are two parameters that must be regarded:

1. Legal Consent

2. Taking RESPONSIBILITY for whatever consequences might be generated by any particular act.

Other than that, I can't help but think it's futile to define this/that sexual act as right/wrong.
