Well, there really isn't anything I don't like about this site. The physical layout is very nice, it's easy to read and comprehend posts, the quote system is easy to understand, there's a high level of debate, civility and knowledge on here, and many more things.

If there was one thing we need more of, it would be more diversity in perspective. I'd say that atheists slightly outnumber christians on here, but not by much. However, liberals outnumber conservatives by alot, which is unfortunate, but then again, a part of me likes that.

What are your feelings on this subject?

Have you ever been to a Pentecostal tent meeting? They don't drink, but I don't think one could call it a "sober religion."

Being relatively new I am still getting my feet wet in the heavy debates...

Is it bad that I really enjoy watching new members make mistakes in violating forum rules? Especially the ones that continue and continue until they are banned?

Granted I do no enjoy seeing someone with a strong opinion go... I just enjoy the small window we see into the minds of the extremists that float through...

I appreciate the moderators even-handed approach to issues and especially their patience... I feel like the people that are sticking around have a real passion for knowledge and their position and really enjoy reading every post.

Even as a moderator, I'll admit that the odd determination of some people to be as offensive and combative (and sometimes, apparently, as incoherent) as possible, until they are unceremoniously sent flying out through the batwing doors of this friendly little saloon of ours, can be very entertaining. The present case, who shall remain nameless here, is proving to be an excellent example of the species. One is tempted to start a betting pool on when his butt will land in the street, except that some of us have the power to affect the timing of that event.

I am not quite sure if it is a bad thing (see Proverbs 24:17–18), but you might as well know that there is at 25¢ word for it: Schadenfreude.

My reasons for liking this forum have evolved from my original aspirations when I first joined. I have learned something very valuable in my short time here; that is that my viewpoint doesn't reign like it does in my own little world. I have learned a great deal from not only other Christians whose views differ from mine, and not only from those of other religions, but from non-theists as well.

This forum has opened my eyes to many things of which I was previously unaware, and for that I am grateful. It probably is not evident from my discourse, yet, but I think I am becoming a bit more...gulp...tolerant.

Did I say that?
Acts 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

I think the key factor in finding tolerance verses someone who is intolerant very often is actually seeing and understanding different points of views. You find that the people who are different aren't the big bad old bogyman you made them out to be.
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Nice

At some point in the long list of theistic-related points of view I have held, I thought that Christianity (and religion in general) was not compatible with good sense. I realized I was wrong there before I came here, but this forum has most certainly helped that realization grow stronger.

I am proud that our Forum has had this effect on you.

A step beyond beyond tolerant is to recognize that no one's beliefs or convictions are NOT guaranteed to be right -- and that ours may not be dead wrong. That casts a different light that removes elitism, divisiveness, competition and conflict that are often associated with feeling that personal beliefs are superior.
