Nor is "he" the most polite (or accurate) way to refer to a female, whether her gender is known to the referrer ...or not.Rhonan wrote:..."it," isn't really the most polite way to refer to a person lol.

Using "it" would be rude for either gender. Using the pronoun he would only offend one gender.Icarus Fallen wrote:Nor is "he" the most polite (or accurate) way to refer to a female, yes ...even when her gender is unknown to the referrer.Rhonan wrote:..."it," isn't really the most polite way to refer to a person lol.
I used "he" because Gay atheist sounds like a male user-name. While gay may be used to refer to homosexuality of both genders, it is normally attributed to homosexual males, while lesbian is the female equivalent of gay.
Since the name is two words put together as one, it could be Gaya theist, but that wasn't really the first thing that came to my mind.
"Gaya" sounds more feminine yes. If meant to refer to Gaia, which is basically earth or mother earth, it would indicate a feminine gender.

All of that said, ...I, too, believe that Gayatheist is most likely male, gay, and an atheist.
Oh, and a welcomed addition to this site.

But if it turns out he/she is actually named Gaya and is a theist, this thread would be awesome.Icarus Fallen wrote:All of that said, ...I, too, believe that Gayatheist is most likely male, gay, and an atheist.

Thanks. I have broad shoulders so have no problems with those who wish to use my non-belief and/or sexuality against me. I say bring it on. :2gun:Zzyzx wrote:.
Hi GA,
Welcome to the forum. To some Fundamentalist Christian members, your screen name will merit two strikes against you. However, to Thinking Theists and Non Theists, those will not be matters of any importance.
I hope you enjoy the debates.

You won't be standing alone, man. There are a lot of straights here that don't care much for bigotry or injustice, whatever masks they hide behind. Welcome to the party.Gayatheist wrote:Thanks.
