New to the forum and Christianty

Hello,

My names Michelle, I'm 26, and a single mother to two gorgeous young children. I have recently started going to a chritianity explored course, run by one of the other mums at my toddler group.

Both my grandparents are religious, but as one is Catholic and one is Church of England, it caused a lot of fighting when I was born as they couldn't reach a decision as to what to christen me under and as a result my parents said they wouldn't do it and let me make up my own mind when I grew up.

Well im more than grown up now, I believe in God and Jesus and that they love me, but I still have so many questions, which is why I thought I would join this forum in the hope of finding some answers or at least see some peoples opinions that may have never crossed my mind :)

I look forward to speaking to you, and some lively discussions :)

xxx

That does not answer the question. How is it that you know that you will see your loved ones again? Faith? Isn't faith just believing what you know ain't so? (Mark Twain)

Do you disagree with Twain? If so, what then is faith? On what basis do you know that you are correct? Is that a reliable basis for determining truth?
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
First Epistle to the Church of the Thessalonians
The truth will make you free.

In sheep_lady's defense, I suppose one can know something intuitively, deductively, a priori, a posteriori along with a number of other possibilities.

Welcome to the forum sheep_lady.

:confused2: OK now I’m confused.. Is this general chat isn’t it? If it is; then we are not expected to defend our statements are we?

Welcome Sheep lady. I would love to hear about your relationship with god at some point but I am also quite new and having trouble working out if there is a place for general discussion in the form of none confrontational debate. Stay tuned.

Ps love sheep to but in a good way.

If you want to do a discussion about christianity, try the holy huddle were you wont be challenged by non theists. You might be challenged by other theists though. Just make a thread and state some rules for the discussion you want. I think this will work.
