Do I regret not being a christian through my adolescence? No way. By 11 I had rejected the church, and was a real believer until then. After you realize that there's no one looking over your shoulder "helping" you along you have to be self-sufficient and responsible for your actions. No prayer will help, no relief from guilt through a request for forgiveness from a supreme being. Just you, your choices and the seeds YOU sow. What better outlook for an adolescent than to have your feet firmly planted in reality.harryhayes wrote:haha thanks guys for your wonderful insightsApart from not being friends with the ugly duckling that becomes the prom queen is there anything else you regret ? such as:-not being a Christian through your adolescence
-not thinking about life after death or even thinking about life after death too much
-causing others pain
-sleeping around
-drugs
-not having a good social life
-not thinking about life after death
haha but I am actually interested how many of the ugly ducklings end up to be prom queens ?
Sound advice. I've seen people get really messed up on the 'harder' drugs. Never meth though, we don't really have that in Europe.suckka wrote:Coke, Crank, Meth, Heroin, prescription drugs: Never did them, never wanted to, don't recommend them, seen them ruin many, many lives. Pot and Acid: Acid a couple of times, wierd experiences, not really my thing. Pot, only as an adult and only a few times a week, no problem with this as long as you are taking care of your responsibilities and you keep it out of the hands of your children.

You are lucky they don't have meth in Europe, in the mid-90s when I was in Amsterdam and Germany, E seemed to be the big thing. But meth is very bad, highly addictive, highly damaging, cheap, easy to acquire, even when you stop using it it keeps degrading your teeth, environmentally deadly to occupants of the homes it's made in, and the water when it's dumped...bad, bad stuff.AkiThePirate wrote:Sound advice. A nice joint every once in a while or some acid at a festival is great, but you have to make sure you've got everything under control.
Some of my friends now live on the dole, in mobile-homes smoking weed all day.
I mean, they're great fun to have a party with, but they're sort of wasting their lives, I guess.
