The Quran and the Bible

Post #1

Post by cholland »

Sura 4:136 - O you who believe, you shall believe in GOD and His messenger, and the scripture He has revealed through His messenger, and the scripture He has revealed before that. Anyone who refuses to believe in GOD, and His angels, and His scriptures, and His messengers, and the Last Day, has indeed strayed far astray.

If the Quran advises Muslims to "believe...the scripture He has revealed before that", why don't they believe the Bible?

Whats difference is in them:)can we see for example? lets analyze

بسْم الله الرَّحْمن الرَّحيم
تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبي لَهَب وَتَبَّ {1}
[Shakir 111:1] Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish.
[Yusufali 111:1] Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he!
[Pickthal 111:1] The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish.

مَا أَغْنَى عَنْه مَاله وَمَا كَسَبَ {2}
[Shakir 111:2] His wealth and what he earns will not avail him.
[Yusufali 111:2] No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains!
[Pickthal 111:2] His wealth and gains will not exempt him.

سَيَصْلَى نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَب {3}
[Shakir 111:3] He shall soon burn in fire that flames,
[Yusufali 111:3] Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame!
[Pickthal 111:3] He will be plunged in flaming Fire,

وَامْرَأَته حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَب {4}
[Shakir 111:4] And his wife, the bearer of fuel,
[Yusufali 111:4] His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!-
[Pickthal 111:4] And his wife, the wood-carrier,

ي جيدهَا حَبْلٌ مّن مَّسَد {5}
[Shakir 111:5] Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope.
[Yusufali 111:5] A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck!
[Pickthal 111:5] Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre.

Now I will ask some neutral readers, to kindly provide comment on these,that what difference they see in the translation of these 3 people

All three renderings state something different, brother.

If they all agreed with each other, then there would be no need for the other two.

Further, what exactly is this sura referring to...?

Iam not surprise, as your english is also weak as your arabic, all the meannings are same, 3 different ppl made translation its their choice, are they from same city country? no, people can make translation upto their meaning and easy understanding.
This refers to Chapter Lahab, # 111

None of your "authorized" translators agree with each other even in the very first ayah, brother.

I discuss already, and posted already, now if you can;t understand simple english, its not my problem, you are afraid to accept that Quran is the truth, and bible is fake, so what I can do. Islam tells no compulsion in religion, I can;t force you to accept it. If you dont want to understand, thn dont understand, just its a req, dont bring false meanings and interpretations of Quran.
And also please write Quran, its not Koran:)
