:) Hi, I´m new here. Maybe JRosemary remembers me from another forum?
I come from Germany, married, 4 children. Two of them are already grown ups and two teenagers still live at home. Job - working in a nursing home, most residents have Alzheimer or Parkinson. Any questions? Ask me!
Oh and please have patience with my imperfect English.

Welcome, Lioba!!

I love Germany! My Dad was in the service when we were young, and we were stationed in Stuttgart (spelling?) for 4 years. I loved it - have many fond memories:)
Also, I have been to Wiesbotten and Frankfurt. I live in Virginia now, which reminds me of Germany - the landscape. Just beautiful and SO green.

I hope to see you around the forum.

I´m sure that we will meet often in the forum. So you lived in the southern half of Germany. At the moment I live a little bit more northern in Westfalia. Your spelling of the cities was generally fine , only it is Wiesbaden. As the "a" is spoken rather short in the local dialect I can understand, that a foreigner hears "ot".

Really happy to meet youn here. With a little bit of luck, I´ll get the Jewish Study Bible as a birthday present next weekend, so I can partake more effectivly on (in?)
the Judaisme debate.

Welcome Lioba. Glad to have you with us.

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.

Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.

There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
