If you would like to debate in a head-to-head debate, find an opponent and agree on a topic. Then both of you must post here with the topic title you two have agreed on and then send me a PM with the link to your request. You two should also agree beforehand the format of the debate. I'll then give you both membership to the usergroup. You are then free to create the topic and debate.
After the debate is over, PM me and I'll lock the thread and remove you from the usergroup.

Thanks otseng. I'm not sure if we are supposed to tell you if the head-to-head is over or not, but my discussion with tigger2 is over. I'm assuming wiploc is also done with my head-to-head with him as it has been a long while since the last response.

Post #124Indeed. Would you like to begin, ECM? And where do we start?ElCodeMonkey wrote: Elijah John and I have agreed to head-to-head debate "Would Jesus Support Republican or Democratic Values More?"
My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

RedEye and I would like to participate in head to head debate. It is about prophecy and whether or not biblical prophecy is valid and true...
Although we have some disagreements about the "criteria" of prophecy, which we should work out. We also are disagreeing on whether only one prophecy should be used in this discussion...
Personally I think we should consider all prophecy for the debate, and here is why:
It is easy to poke holes in any single prophecy. For example, i have debated people who criticize one prophecy as non-legitimate because it was fulfilled in the past, and we couldnt be sure if the author would have wrote it after the event.
While they poked holes in another prophecy, from the same prophet, that its prophecy hasnt been fully fulfilled yet so we cant be sure if its true...
Now these criticisms are inconsistent with one another.. If you say a prophet wrote one prophecy after the event happened (on speculation), and then say another one of his prophecies hasnt been fulfilled yet. That is totally incoherent in its criticism...
The debate should be to establish a good reason of support or objections for prophecy. We should ask, why did the prophet say any prophecy? what motivated that prophet? What reasoning? What explanation can we give for the overall existence of these prophecies. If they are false... Shouldnt we explain the who, what, why? Instead of just poking doubt?
I think the best explanation for prophecy in the Bible is an All Knowing God
