The recent results have improved my confidence in democracy in the USA. Now if we could just get rid of George's buddy Steve Harper.

George has two years left. Who will the Democrats nominate for the position of next president of the USA?

Hilary Clinton is the front runner, with Barak Obama, John Edwards, Russ Feingold, and John Kerry (before he was sabotaged) also up there.

I'm rooting for Obama/Feingold, but it will never happen.

I personally doubt that Hillary will get the nomintion. She has too much emotional baggage. Her nomination would be too much of a lightning rod (or is that rodham??)
for the conservatives.

I personally would love to see Barak Obama. Alas, I don't think he is electable due to the conservative nature of the Southern States. I suspect that the first black president will have to be a republican from the south.

 I love the first post.

It seems as if Obama charms everyone he meets. I look forward to learning more about him over the next 2 years.

Next on the Agenda.

Rid the Capitol of Dems as well.

The time for political parties to see their demise has long passed.

Our constitution provides for a peaceful method of tranferring power to a new Constitution, it is time we do so.

You should look towards a system that will allow for more than two parties. A two party state is only one party better off than a one party state.

The concept of a separate executive with a single elected president is one that puts pressure to keep the two party system.

Proportional representation is another idea that promotes sharing of power with those other than the two main parties.

The difficulty is convincing those in power, beholden to one of the two parties, to move forward on this agenda.

No doubt the system as it is now is in place to keep the two party system intact.

Requiring at least 15% in the previous election to qualify for debates and absurd conditions for third party candidates to qualify to even be on the ballot for the presidential elections are a few that come to mind.

While I will be thrilled to see the back broken on the two party system, I would rather see a no party system.

How? Politics is about power and authority. Both are enhanced by cooperation and coordination of various individuals with convergent goals. That is the essence of party politics.

Unless you address this, you are just :censored: ing into the wind.

Ok, so I know I am going to get so much grief for this, but hear me out. I voted for Bush both times. First against Gore (what a joke) and second against Kerry (need I explain that). I am generally republican, but my vote is more on who is the most qualified. Now, yes I am a female. No I don't think women are affected any more by PMS than men. Mens testosterone levels fluctuate at certain times during the month just as womens do. But first off, how exactly is it that a female president is going to handle international affairs. Lets consider how many countries still subjugate women. Yea, female president, great idea. Now Hilary Clinton, come on. She is married to Bill Clinton.....ew...... She supported her husbands lies, has thus far remained neutral on most topics so one couldn't feel her out to begin with. And once again, ewwww........

I don't know who I will vote for. But it will be the candidate I feel is best capable and qualified. Not one who stands on a utopian platform (Kerry) or one who did absolutely nothing as a vice president (Gore).

Ok, you all can tar and feather me now.

What we do for others and the world remains
and is immortal.
