I have a question for the Muslims who may happen to read this.
I took a look at a website that talks about supernatural scientific knowledge that Muhammed may have had concerning the facts of science.
http://www.themodernreligion.com/verses_sci.htm
Do the scientific facts in Islam prove that an angel revealed things that only modern science can know?
For the Christians and non-muslims who have knowledge on this subject,
What are some arguments to say that Muhammed's knowledge did not come from supernatural sources?
I haven't read all the scientific arguments yet but there is Islamic scientific argument that I already dispute. That particular claim is about the Earth being round. The Greeks, thousands of years ago, invented Trigonometry. And every mathmetician knows that the area of a circle can be approximated by putting in triangles.
If you put up some sunpoles in different cities and then take careful measurements of the shadows, there has to be some trigonometry trick to measure the Earth's dimensions without actually paying for an expensive sailboat expedition. After all, scientists know the distance between the Earth and the Sun but they don't send rockets to the Sun.

I took a quick look at that website and found that it's plagued with errors. Parts of it are unintentionally funny. Anyone who had taken the time to do a little research would have known that the spherical earth is a Greek idea, not a Muslim one. Some enlightened Muslims played an important role in the preservation of Greek thought during the Middle Ages, and no doubt absorbed some of it (Ibn Rushid or Averroes being a case in point). That could explain why some people mistakenly think that the idea of a spherical earth originated with them.
The Greeks invented the first of the sciences, Geometry. If you look up Aristachus of Samos you will be amazed at the astronomical measurements he was able to do using geometry and empirical observation.

Post #3A muslim apologist, Nadir Ahmed, has tried frequently to prove the Quran scientfically. This link here covers a long debate between him and the ex-muslims of faith-freedom.org -
http://www.faithfreedom.org/debates/NadirAhmed.htm
After reading this you'll understand why the majority of eastern muslims and some western refuse to try and prove the Quran by using science.

Scientific proof for Trinitarianism?I haven't read all the scientific arguments yet but there is Islamic scientific argument that I already dispute. I like where this is heading.

This is a red herring the topic says Islam and Science, not Christianity and Science.snappyanswer wrote:

And there are no muslims who profess to say we can examine God scientifically either. Just like there is no trinitarian that can scientifically examine there God.
The topic of Islam and Science, alludes to Islamic sources having divine information, the claim of some Muslim Apologists is the affirmitive of this position, that the Quran indeed has many amazing scientific statements that could have not been possibly known in the time era of Mohammed.

Scientists blame Intelligent Design proponents of trying to prove God with science. Where have you been? This is a red herring the topic says Islam and Science, not Christianity and Science.

Water, ice, steam. Christians have put out there examples.

Mohammad is wrong about his religion. It can be proven scientifically. have archeaologists (a branch of science study) compare Hebrew texts written thousands of years before Mohammad was born, to his written quotes taken down talks by his followers.

How is comparing Hebrew texts to Islamic texts going to prove, scientifically, that Muhammed is wrong about his religion? I doubt that any educated scientist would treat the OT as a scientifically accurate text.Mohammad is wrong about his religion. Post #8FYI, most of us Muslims do not claim that Muslims discovered that the earth was spherical.
Would you guys please read the site again.
The author wrote;
"Today we can look at a globe and know that the earth is somewhat like a ball, a sphere. The Qur'an makes certain statements that led Muslim scientists to understand long before their European counterparts that the earth is spherical. When Europe was in the dark ages thinking that the earth was flat, Muslim students were using globes for studying the earth in Islamic universities. "
The author did not claimed that Muslims discovered a spherical earth. He was just comparing the Muslims with the European of the dark ages and their contemporary "scientific" belief system.
But the whole point is this:
The Quran does not contradict scientific facts.
That's the point the author was getting to.
