What Is The Purpose Of A Soul?

Post by Nirvana-Eld »

This is not one of those vague "meaning of life" quesiotns (at least I hope it isn't) But it is something I have never seen discussed or debated so i think it would be interesting. Anyone want to try and tackle this one?

So 'souls' and 'spirits' are the same in your view? Why is the human soul the lowest? How do you propose one gains knowledge of one's soul? Who determines this higher spirituality?

You have missed the whole point. I am not saying it.
You did say it (more than once) - would you like me to direct you to the posts(s). Or do you claim to speak for god?

The bible is a book written by men. It is a collection of myths and metaphors no different from the hundreds of other 'sacred texts'. If you dont think there are any others I suggest you look at the The Internet Sacred Text Archive - "I encourage you to do that"

Serious question...why do you believe the bible is the word of god and all these others are not?

Look you've said it again.

Prove that this is the truth.

(And while you are at it - where did god get all the energy from to create the universe?)

I can show you it says that in the Bible, but if you don't believe in its validity, that is a waste. So I have nothing to offer but the truth.

So you are saying that the bible is the word of god because it says so in the bible?

Would that be right?

I does say that in there doesn't it. I believe because of that and many more reasons. Biggest one being Jesus is Lord.

According to the bible, animals are living souls also. Even plants are if you believe in Karma.
That is correct. But only the human soul is also spirit.

No... The soul is the source of life -- so animals and plants have earthly souls too. But God provided man with a soul that is transformed to spirit.
Why is the human soul the lowest?
Lowest only in the sense of "least," as in quantity. We are not pure spirit while we are in the flesh.
How do you propose one gains knowledge of one's soul?
Soul or spirit? Those who view humans as advanced animals know only of the earthly soul. Those who understand that this is only a foretaste of eternity learn to develop their soul as spirit.
Who determines this higher spirituality?
God gave us the potential... we choose what we do with it.

That is not Bible based. The spirit and soul are separate. Where are you coming from with diferent levels of spirits?

I does say that in there doesn't it.
That is circular reasoning, the answer presupposes the question. It is erroneous

This is the same as saying that I am right because I say I am right.

It says in the Bhagavad Gita that Krishna is Lord. Why is that not true?

If you think it is true, tell me why or why not.
