A few weeks ago, I joined this forum to dialogue and to learn from people with different perspectives. Thanks to Scourge99, Zzyzx, Murad and Slopeshoulder for offering me some new perspectives on things.
Recently, I have read repeated threads and individual posts with blanket denunciations of theology, religion, and churches. It is wearing on me personally. Coupled with recent deteriorating dialogue with a respected forum member, I have decided it is wise to take the week off to try to restore my ability to remain stoic in the face of frustratingly negative thread topics, or in the face of incompatible dialogue. I come here to learn, not to develop the vice of anger. We'll see how things go in a week. Until then, forgive my current non-responsiveness in various threads and to private messages, and forgive my past growing terseness.
I'm a newb, so likely my absence won't mean a great deal. But just in case someone noticed, I figured I'd post.
See you next Monday.

Re: I'm taking the week off
Post #3Following your return, it might be helpful to place and keep the focus on gaining a more complete understanding of the 'inerrant Word of God'. Here's a thread dedicated to that noble pursuit, in the event that you agree.theopoesis wrote: [...]I have decided it is wise to take the week off to try to restore my ability to remain stoic in the face of frustratingly negative thread topics, or in the face of incompatible dialogue.
Enjoy your vacation.
