In keeping with the theme of this site and the idea of cNorman, People I'd like to meet in "The Next Life," if any , who would you like to see in a head to head debate, and what topic would you like to see them debate?

Open to all living, historical, mythical, semi-mythical and fictional characters.
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

Lewis & Russell on the problem of evil

I would like to see C.S. Lewis and Bertrand Russell debate the problem of evil and how it relates to the existence of God.

I'd enjoy watching some head-to-head action between a J.P. Moreland or maybe a W.L. Craig-type vs a theistic Satanist-type ...like M.A. Aquino (though I'm not sure he presently identifies himself as a "Satanist" per se). I dunno; I've just always been amused at the skiddishness of true evangelicals (you know, where their boogeyman is concerned), and I think it could make for an interesting dynamic in a debate setting.

Paul of Tarsus and James the just, with works verses faith.
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

Goose vs. Zyzzx, in a cage match:

"Can miracle tales in the Bible be confirmed as literally true events."

Or

Any two drunk Southerners:

"Why beef ain't barbecue, and hadn't we oughta hate just a tiny little bit those who think it's better'n pork."

Or

Take the highest rated (by votes of their peers) atheist, and the highest rated (by votes of their peers) theist:

"God exists because."

The AFLAC mascot and Donald Duck on the differences between the existential weltanschauung and lifestyle of a corporate spokesman and that of a fictional comic book character with a rich uncle.

Here's another: C. S. Lewis, John F. Kennedy, and Aldous Huxley on anything.

As it happens, they all died on the same day. At least they probably had some interesting conversation in the waiting room....

Jesus of Nazareth (As portrayed in the Bible. You can take him as either historical or fictional character) and any Pope in history about what the fundamental teachings of Christianity should be.
