hello, it will take me a few posts to get adjusted to the format and rules here. i have read them several times and will try to make sure i comply, but keep in mind i will make mistakes or forget. adjustments are never fun.
i am a private person so please do not ask personal questions because i will not answer them. in writing my name i prefer my username, 'archaeologist', but 'archie' or 'arch' is fine as well. oh and please just use my name just once in a post. i do not need to read it over and over as i usually know when you are talking to me.

Post #11Welcome. I would like to ask you about your moniker however. Mine, "SailingCyclops", is meaningful, because I am a sailor, I live on the ocean, and I have one seeing eye. Your's is "archaeologist", is it also meaningful? Are you an archaeologist? This is not a "personal" question, just a query for me to understand who I am addressing when I respond to your posts. Should I envision and interact with you you as an archaeologist (a scientist), or simply as an Archie (A fellow human)? Not that they are both mutually exclusive.archaeologist wrote:

This wouldn't be an issue for me if your moniker were generic, but you have chosen a specific scientific discipline. Does it have a real-world meaning? It's OK if it doesn't, I just would like to know.
