Spiritual Gifts

I love studying spiritual gifts. I'm curious to know the spiritual gifts of the Christians on this forum.

Personally, I believe I possess the gift of prophecy, also know as "truth-speak." Don't worry; I don't go around giving people future forecasts. That's not what it is at all.

So, what are yours?

I think mine is making people think about God's existence to help bring them to Christianity as well as coming up with questions that can only be answered if people believe in God.

Mercy, a little hospitality, and spiritual discernment  ...yeah...that's taken me many strange places.

Hi all,

This is my first post here, I was originally approaching this site as a little light relief from some of the other places I post, but I'm not so sure that's gonna happen! Anyway, my spiritual gift is definitely humility. In fact, I think I'm the most humble guy I've ever met! O:)

Ok, I'm just kidding. Right now I'm just waiting on God to show me what he's doing in my life - I attend a church open to the spiritual gifts, and I can honestly say that despite witnessing it, I've never spoken in a tongue either publicly or in prayer, I've never interpreted, and I've never had a prophecy (although I have made a few freakily correct guesses, but not usually about anything profound!). So, I'm just waiting on God to show me his plan really, and hopefully I'll be able to use any gift He might choose to give me to glorify Him and not myself.

Look forward to meeting everyone,

Asa

Spiritual gifts aren't necessarily supernatural. Some people have the gift of teaching, some hospitality, others mercy...I forget all of them, but a lot of them are gifts God has given us to show His love for others. You may have a gift and just don't know it yet. I don't remember the website, but there is an online test somewhere.

I have the best spiritual gift of them all, the gift of being saved by grace (ephesians 2:8 ). 8)

Seriously though, I'm not sure what my gift(s) are. I like to think that teaching and understanding are among them -- I can definitely say that prophecy and speaking in tongues are not!

Speaking of tongues (pun intended, sorry), I'm a little wary whenever I hear someone tell me that they have that gift. It seems to me that it is more often abused and (unintentionally) faked than actually truly given; and only once have I witnessed one person speaking in tongues and another translating the meaning.
