If so, that would make this place pretty damn boring.

Yes that's the problem. I (and a couple of other Christians) have to reply to five or six people of differing opinion, and when refuting a claim the original reply is usually longer, so do the math my friend, 5x or 6x is a lot of font.

When Selfish Gene author Richard Dawkins challenged physicist John Barrow on his formulation of the constants of nature at last summer Templeton-Cambridge Journalism Fellowship lectures, Barrow laughed and said, “You have a problem with these ideas, Richard, because you aren''t really a scientist. You''re a biologist ! (Woo Hoo you go Barrow!)

I think maybe its because that many Christians are trying to practice what Jesus taught, which is modesty. Maybe the more 'polite' Christians think that 'modesty' etc means means turn the other cheek. That last sentence is a bit more loaded than it first appears, but I don't think it was intentional or malicious. I am not so sure if the problem is in the willingness to defend their world view as much as they don't know how to respond!

However peter knew ; 1 Peter 3:15 NIV
15But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

I and a member had a misunderstanding, and the standards and of rules of evidence are not as strict as I once thought they were.
Thank you. The moderating team is entirely volunteer. Please use the report button and / or Private Messages to indicate when any debater, believer or not, has violated the rules. Your help in this matter is appreciated very much by the moderating team.

Its been some time and I did report some infractions, but did not feel very good about it. Maybe the forum will become self regulating. BTW, I don't mind the difficulty, I invite it, as long as the playing field is level. And, as always, thanks for your reply.

I do feel for you there. I am trying to recruit Christian apologists, currently students at a Bible College where the daughter of a friend of mine attends, to this site. I do try to refrain from posting when I would be the fourth or fifth skeptic responding to the same believer's post. I am not always successful at holding myself back.

Of course there is the 5 or 6 differing Christian opinions on every subject too.
Or then there are the Christians that keep repeating themselves and the same thing over and over as if the claim was enough.

Well, thanks for your kind consideration relating to these issues, I admire you for your attempt to recruit (Hee hee) the forum a team of christian apologists, I am always surprised and sometimes astonished at what thee' younger generation brings to this, the esteemed table of debate.

What do you consider "a fair and reasonable historical standard?" The cornerstone of your belief after all is that a corpse came back to life, a claim which by any other standard is not only preposterous but impossible. What fair and reasonable standard makes the impossible reasonable? .

I only repeat myself when someone demonstrates by his or her answer that they don't get it. I detest having to have to repeat myself but find that sometimes the person that I am responding to does not answer my replies but rather goes on and on and on like a deaf energizer bunny. Oh I do attempt to source my claims when asked.
