Did you grow up with some sort of religious influence in the home?

For me, I grew up with practically no religious influence in my home. My parents sometimes went to the Presbyterian church, but they went for social reasons. Religion was rarely ever talked about in my home.

My father became a Jehovah's Witness when I was 5. I started reading the bible before an audience at 6. Start knocking on doors and condemning people at 7. At 8 I began to rebel at 9 I totally rebelled. Did a lot of misdemeanor rebellious acts til 14 when I was swiftly removed from under my father roof with 'If you can't obey my rules get out' I said 'Cool'.
Spent the next 20 plus years believing that God did not hear my prayers or would do nothing for me because I was not a Jehovah's Witness and I was destined for everlasting sleep.

At 36 the 'woman that God gave me' told me these things were crap, believed her began reading the bible for myself saw all the errors in the jw doctrine try to talk to my father, who says I can't change his mind, even tho' I show the governing bodies errors by scripture. Feel sorry for them and say 'But there for the Grace of God go I'

By the by it did take literally 32 years to wipe out the teachings that I received in 6
