a little background on the story of John
Titor, supposed Time Traveler.

(I hope this doesn't bore you, just know that i didn't
just copy and paste, this is all from me)

In 2001, a man going under the online name of
Time_Traveler0 and later John Titor began posting on a
couple online forums (mostly about physics and some
paranormal travel). He stated that he was a soldier
from the America of 2036 and was sent back in time to
find a computer called the IBM 5100
The 5100, according to him, had an underliying
feature unknown feature known to most. It was capable
of altering machine source code and, with some
adaptations, UNIX. He stated that UNIX would have some
sort of problem in 2038 (A little investigation from
the forum members revealed that in 2038, UNIX would
experience something alot like the Y2K bug of Windows)
He also explained what the world was like later.
He discussed some military activity in Iraq, in later
years (This is in 2001, mind you, with no knowledge of
Iraq problems) and said that, starting after the
election of 2004, some civil unrest would develop due
to some tension and fighting in the Middle East,
mainly between Israli's and Arab's. Supposedly, a
series of Waco-like events would take place (The cult
burning of a few years back) for a few months in
succession. Eventually, it would develop into a full
civil war in which America was divided into 2 parts
People would either be situated in the Urban or
Rural parts of the country. The civil war would flare
for around 10 years until a nuclear war would begin.
Jacksonville would be hit first, according to him
(some more research revealed buildings in Jacksonville
containing some of the nations most coveted documents
and top-secret materials.
China would be decimated, along with another
country and Korea would be "forcefully united".
America would be destroyed. At least, the cities,
destroying the AFE (American Federation Empire) which
is the "bad side" in the civil war. The 3rd world war
would be over in a matter of minutes.
People were naturally skeptical, and asked
impossible questions of him. (Physics questions, which
no layman would have the ability to answer). He
answered EVERY question asked of him in this 4 month
period (The time he "arrived" and his time of
departure). He made some physics comments about the
company CERN making some massive breakthroughs in the
study of sigularities, and discussed the exact physics
for his ability to travel through "time" (It wasn't
time as we percieve, but rather, millions of
"worldlines" which were different universes containing
different versions of Earth). The odd thing is, unlike
other claimed time travelers, he also posted pictures
of military-grade containers housing this machine. He
also posted pictures of the manual. The most peculiar
thing is, 3 and a half years later, not a single
person has proven any of these physics statements
incorrect.

Has anyone else heard about this guy?

Crazy stuff...

(Oh, sorry about the weird word-wrap format...I typed this a while back, and it seemed to get stuck that way, and I didn't feel like correcting the whole thing. Hopefully, it's still intellegible)

You'll excuse me if I don't quote the relevant passages, but here's what I think. You point out 3 times instances of a prediction in which simple research showed it to be true. People weren't required to do extensive 3 dimensional imaging of the ground to find facilities, they simply had to know of a problem Unix would have. I find it more likely this person (like me) tends to collect useless facts as they amuse him, and did this for attention and notoriety.

I completely agree with you; I never said I believed the guy. I just thought it was interesting, and wanted to know if anyone else knew of him.
