Hey lovely people!

Well Hello one and all.

As you can see by my username, I am Catalyst.
:D

What you read is what you get. I call a spade a spade and a shovel a shovel.

I am an Aussie and came across this forum by chance, which is not unusual for me, as I tend to "google up" something and in turn, all this other info or new sites etc tend to fall in my lap.

I am passionate about life, love and humanity. I am an activist for human and animal rights.

I am a former christian and minister, but now enjoy the life of free thought and loving and learning with no holds barred.

With me, what you read is what you get and love me or not....I am here!!

Nice to meet you ALL!! :D

Welcome to the forum..
“What do you think science is? There is nothing magical about science. It is simply a systematic way for carefully and thoroughly observing nature and using consistent logic to evaluate results. So which part of that exactly do you disagree with? Do you disagree with being thorough? Using careful observation? Being systematic? Or using consistent logic?

I used to do that until I came home drunk one night and tripped over them in the dark!

At any rate, welcome! What made you abandon your previous religious ways?

Oh those spades and shovels just tend to jump out at us from time to time, don't they!

What made me abandon religion?

Rational thought for the most part. Perhaps when I know my way around the site a little better, I will post my anti-testimony and explain in full why.

I notice that a group you are with is ex Muslim? Did you too walk away?

Hi catalyst, and welcome.

I've noticed that ex-pastors often make better atheists than others, and by the same token ex-atheists often make better Christian apologists than others. So I'm looking forward to having you join our discussions.

Hi Skyler and thank you for the welcome. WOW, when I saw your username, I for some reason automatically thought of SouthPark! (Shelley's Boyfriend).

That is a very insightful comment and I understand the reasons for both sides of the coin! I can only speak from my own experiences but I do understand exactly where you are coming from.

I will sus out your chosen areas of debate and put in my 2 bobs worth if warranted.

Again, thank you for the welcome and I look forwad to interacting with you soon. ;)

I did indeed, and suggested creating that group myself. So far I remain its sole member :( . Lonely… I’m so lonely… I have no idea why it has a square in between the two words. It started off as a hyphen!

Yes, I came to face the truth: that the pagan and human constructed things I could see clearly in Judaism, and also in Christianity, applied with equal force to Islâm. And since I grew convinced that god can’t exist, at least not in the Abrahamic way, I abandoned the religion and took on the name of two false idols. Great stuff!

I'm not surprised. We'll try to keep your identity hidden so that you remain a member.

I have corrected this.

Seems Mcculloch changed it for you. :D Are there Muslims on this site? I ask as I have not been here long enough to totally sus it all out and have been popping in when time permits.

Well, kudos on your personal revelations Pazuzu bin Hanbi! Being true to ones self is the most honest thing any of us can do.

My own personal removal from religion, ironically was my quest for further absorption into it! I did the whole Hellenic trek through the Holy Land and was quite miffed when on the original pilgrimage, Nazareth didn't even rate a mention! lol My ball of twine started to unravel from that point on....

Like I said though at some point, when I am more in sync with the place, I will post more about it all. ;)
