I am soon to be 40, so Dilettante, how does it feel? I guess the weirdest part of turning 40 for me is that I can no longer fool myself into a perception of youth, the 30's were still close enough to the 20's that I was able believe that I was still a young adult. Since the average life span is around 80, I must now accept that I am middle aged
, Yikes!

Well, Piper Plexed, how could I begin? It feels a little strange because I don't really feel middle aged yet, but I technically I guess I am, like you said. People start telling you you should exercise more, get a health check up every year, things like that. But what really makes me feel older is to watch my eldest son grow up (he's 5). On the other hand, this is also a blessing, and I derive much pleasure from watching him mature.
Like someone said before, becoming older is a drag, but if you consider the alternative...
