I have something to say to the Christian!!!
I have just started the site, with a few posts. Now...listen up! I have gone around the site and you know what i have noticed? There are more Christians than Atheists! Why are atheists speaking their mind more than the Christians? I'm a Christian, and one of the main reasons America is falling into the hands of Atheists, agnostics, and this "secular society" is because we aren't speaking our mind! WE need to get off our butts.

Welcome to the forum.
It is gratifying to see a Christian encouraging others to speak up.
There are at least as many Christian as Non-Christian members of this forum according to site statistics. However, there are only a few Christians who present sound and credible arguments in debate. Many who do “speak up” preach rather than debate.
Perhaps the preaching tendency is due to being unaccustomed to a debate environment where ideas are challenged rather than accepted without question or criticism. We frequently see the “argument” “you can’t prove my statements wrong” (or the bible false) “so they / it must be true” – the antithesis of reasoned debate and discussion which discredits the person and the views that they champion.
Another weak theistic position is to make elaborate excuses for the absence of evidence to support claims – often culminating in statements that suggest “there is no evidence because it was a ‘miracle’” (see the current flood debate in Head to Head sub-forum).
The weakest and least supported claim is “goddidit” (the ultimate defense when what is being presented makes no sense at all in the real world).
Many Non-Theist members welcome intelligent debate based upon reason, knowledge, experience, evidence and real world information. Very few Theists have earned respect for their ideas or their presentation (in my opinion, of course) – most of whom are NOT fundamentalist or literalist or fanatical. I hold Cnorman in highest regard and as an example of a powerful religious belief and ability to communicate.
If you are prepared to debate honestly and openly, to answer questions truthfully, and to properly respect the opinions and convictions of others, you will be a valued member.

Post #3You would seem to see the possibility of America (or the world for that matter) falling into the hands of atheists, agnostics ans 'secularists' as being somehow to its detriment.mineman43 wrote:I have something to say to the Christian!!!

If so, why?

Post #4I work full-time as teacher, attend graduate school, study Korean, go to the gym three times a week, study a Korean traditional instrument on the weekends, go to church on Sundays, visit interesting places in Korea or go to various cultural events, and spend time with my friends. I have a busy life.mineman43 wrote:Why are atheists speaking their mind more than the Christians?
I have a good deal of respect for some here. They are intelligent, and deserve well thought-out responses. I simply cannot provide such in the amount of time I have. Hence, I refrain from posting a lot of the time. It's a shame because I do often see things which I feel need responses, but don't have the time to properly frame a response.
