Scientology Protests 10 February 2008

Post by Rathpig »

A recent protest movement stemming from the release and subsequent forced removal of a Tom Cruise rant about the wonders of his cult should reach a much larger audience with planned pickets on February 10th. This latest in the internet information campaign exposing the reality of Scientology began with the loosely knit fans of the "chan" forums, known as "Anonymous" for their collective non-registered posting name, but has gathered steam by being joined together with various long-standing Scientology opponents and freethought groups.

The "chan" fans became incensed when the Church of Scientology forced You Tube to remove the Cruise video over alleged copyright issues. This began a broader movement of education and protest against the victims of Scientology which many view as a dangerous cult . The internet has long been a tool used to expose the true nature of the group with former members sharing their experiences and leaking the "secret" teachings of the "religion" that are normally only available for sale to the highest ranking members. Often these "secrets" cost hundreds of thousands of dollars after a lifetime of cult dedication.

Anyone interested in more information or participation in the planned protest is encouraged to contact their local groups or simply show up at 11am on the 10th at their local Scientology location.

People should be enslaved and murdered by their "religion", and celebrities shouldn't be allowed to use their fame to recruit cult victims.

Scientology should expect us to speak out.

The following excerpt contains the first 6 points of a 38 point list of details outlining a young lady's experiences in her years as a member of the Church of Scientology from age six. The story has gather well over 7000 Diggs as of this reposting. Nothing exposes Scientology as a dangerous cult as much as the testimony of it's former victims.

1. Not allowed to see my mom but once a day when I was six. Was only permitted to see her at dinner for one hour.

2. My mom was made to work 12 hour days and was only paid $50.00 a week and given room and board.

3. I was made to live in a dorm at the age of six, separate from my mom or dad, with three other girls my age.

4. I was made to believe from a very early age that Scientologist were the better than other people, and if you were not in it, you were not good enough.

5. I was told to only tell my grandparents good things about myself when I visited, to not let on if I was behind in school, but just make them think I am a great student.

6. Scientologists constantly refers to people outside of their 'religion" as "Wogs". A derogatory term used commonly by members in it. ........

The host forum source of this posting contains thousands of personal testimonies that corroborate Sabrina's story and detail what life is truly like inside the group that Tom Cruise claims can answer all the world's problems.

The following link (although from 1995) also demonstrates why Scientology is a dangerous cult.

SCIENTOLOGY RAIDED IN GREECE

In his Report judge Angelis mentions:

"During the investigation, many financial evidence were collected and received by employees of the Economics Ministry of relevant duties, as well as fourty nine (49) bottles of various pills, that were confiscated. As an indication, ninety files were taken away, out of the thousands existing in the three floors, to verify the accusations (which are forced missions to work abroad, granding of pharmaceuticals, etc).

The study of those files revealed that:

a) Files are maintained for certain people (members or not), the contents of which are kept secret and classified, even by those interested and concerned members.
b) Many people are asked to sign the Statement of Law 1599/86 (also known as Law 104) that KEFE has no responsibility in case they committ suicide.
c) The so called "Clearing" process is applied, during which various pharmaceutical substances are given to the participant. Most importantly, the person is signining (before he/she enters the process) a statement that he/she, as well as the heirs, will not raise any claims, or sue, or attack KEFE in case a damage or injury is caused during the clearing process.
d) The Center is maintaining Ethics Officers and Ethics Courts, to punish those who violate its Ethics Code.
e) The family life of the members is recorded, for unknown reasons and orders are issued for their "handling".
f) The criminal or unethical actions of the members are recorded for unknown reasons, without precluding the possibility of blackmailing.
g) The members are praised, in writting, for conducting unethical or criminal actions.
h) The members are attracted to the Center with deceptive ways.
i) The members sign statements about offering free labour usually for a five year period.

The most important, however, is that the Center is maintaining a Department of Special Affairs and Office of Special Affairs, which conduct monitoring of people and report their movements to unidentified centers abroad.

Event Success

The February 10th worldwide protest against Scientology was a resounding success. Hundreds of events with a total turnout of over 8000 people has demonstrated that the internet generation can combine to stand up against malevolence.

The next event is planned for March 15th and those interested are encouraged to attend if possible. Those who can not attend are encourage to write, fax, or call your local governments and question the tax except status of the Scientology organization.

No business should be given the right to hide behind religious freedom to promote the profitability of a small segment of individuals while exploiting their membership.

Scientology is not a religion. It is a business using religion to cover it's malevolence and provide tax exempt status.
