One normal day, Armageddon arrives, and amidst the fireballs and atomic blasts you realise that you don't believe in God.
As an atheist/agnostic, you find yourself standing before God. Apparently, his efforts to appear non-existant had you fooled, and unless you can tell him why not, he is going to send you to Hell.
What would you say to God, if he allowed you a few minutes to sway him?
What would you say to the Almight?

I'd use the Bertrand Russell defence.Openmind wrote:To be honest, I'd challenge him to a debate, utilising the main arguments we can use against Christians. Failing that, I'd jump him and try and overpower the big guy - existence can't get any worse, right?
Ask ask why offered so little in the way of evidence of his existence

Assuming you're talking about the Christian God, I'd tell him he was an ass and ask which way to the down escalator. It doesn't really matter if he's real or not, the Bible portrays him as a complete bastard, I want nothing to do with him.

Post #5Changing the scenario a little. If we could ask him one question which he agrees to answer then I'd ask him to tell me the value of pi digit by digit as he walks me down the escalator.Openmind wrote:One normal day, Armageddon arrives, and amidst the fireballs and atomic blasts you realise that you don't believe in God.

Not really. I am just allergic to gold. And I accept my fate should I be wrong. I wouldn't give Him the satisfaction of seeing fear. Only hate.Openmind wrote:"I'll take my ticket to hell in silver if you don't mind".
That's a noble way to go out. I'd probably try and run away.

I wouldn't hate, that's meaningless. I'd have plenty of pity though, how pathetic does some all-powerful deity have to be to need to create a bunch of mindless sycophants to kiss it's backside all the time?
