The Supreme Being is rowing the bark of the ship carrying the universe. The Rower is pushing against the current, that is tending towards the Monad of materialism. The bark is churning against this current, moving in forward motion against it.
Without the strong hand of the Lord's in creating differentiation (which is the mainstay of spirituality) everything would collapse into this monad. This one "Lording It Over" material nature.
There is a coldness here. Just as water expands into ice, due to the lack of temperature in freezing, so too does the Lord put an end to the illusory material energy by inserting himself to create real differentiation. The Lord creates varieties by virtue of ridding the inebrieties foisted upon us, the impingements, of material energy. The Lord vacates material nature, with his own, positive, yet strangely cold, nature.
Yet material energy is relentless, and this bark requires, then, the strong arms of the Lord to row with grace against the tireless current. To make waves to counter the enervating waves. And this is chiefly known by grace itself.

Post #2In a sense, all we can do is make waves. Counter waves against the opposite waves. Refusing to be borne back into the past, of nescience.....
Your faith is beautiful.
