The question for debate is does hell exist? If so, what does the Bible teach hell is?

So then the make of fire is symbolic of abolishment NOT torture or suffering?

The make of fire or the lake of fire is literal as it will destroy death and hell(grave). Meaning there is no more
death, no more grave, no more sin as the wicked, Satan and demons are destroyed.
Revelation 21:4 says;
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.(KJV)

Something can be real but not literal.

  • Is the stage of liberty real?
  • Is the statue of liberty a literal woman?
  • Is the statue of Liberty symbolic of something ? If so, of what?

From online definition;
What is the difference between literal meaning and real meaning? Literal meaning means surface meaning or basic meaning of a word or phrase. The meaning intended by the speaker is the real meaning.

I can describe fire in Revelation as real fire and literal fire base on the above definition.

Can you see the questions above? Do you care to answer them?

I ask because I am trying to see if you understand the difference between the words "literal" And "symbolic"

So a rock (which is not alive) is not real?

Okay, I'll stop now, I think I've got the information I was looking for.

Have a great day,

JW

It is out of the thread again.
Can we just get back to the "fire" word argued upon?
