Came across this little gem a bit ago and thought I'd share.

Not to mention that if the whole affair was to get rid of the bad humans he'd made, then why not just kill all the humans (except 8) and leave the other members of the plant and animal kingdoms alone? Was god upset with them as well for some reason? Just wave the magic wand and be done with it. There is no lesson to be taught to the defective humans that didn't make it onto the ark because they will soon be dead (except when they are drowning or being smashed against rocks by the flood waters, but what's the point of teaching a lesson to someone as you kill them?). The whole story makes no sense, and of course every "ology" has shown that it did not actually happen in the real world. However, as I've pointed out elsewhere, it would take a really doofus of a god to go to all the bother of having a boat built, rounding up 8.7 million species of life, and then flooding the earth so as to get rid of the rest of life, PLUS then stepping in to take care of it all, when he could have just as well waved his wand and had every piece of life disappear from the face of the earth except for one or two of each species. So, to be fair to your almighty god, lets' not assume he had anything to do with the whole affair other than talking to Noah and flooding the earth.
Let's take a look...The Bible states that God commanded all animals to bring forth after their kind
What, like the enemy of your enemy is your friend?We_Are_VENOM wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 9:25 pmHe stated plainly that birds are not dinosaurs. Anything besides that, take it up with him.

Genesis 1:24 And God said: Let the earth bring forth the living creature in its kind, cattle and creeping things, and beasts of the earth, according to their kinds.
No, that's wrong. A bit of editing there...
I feel you. The point is; not all scientists agree with the so called "fact" that birds are dinosaurs. That was my only point.Difflugia wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 12:55 am What, like the enemy of your enemy is your friend?
Mentioning a guy that spent his entire career documenting the evolution of birds isn't support for a flat denial of evolution, even if he differs with his colleagues on some details. That would be like me reciting the name of an Anglican or a Calvinist as evidence to a Baptist that God doesn't exist.
God "made" bad humans? Or did humans use the free will that God gave them for evil? Hmm.
He did. Thus; the flood.
Soo, apparently the discussion is turning into not so much whether God did it, but rather the manner at which he did it.DrNoGods wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 9:27 pm Was god upset with them as well for some reason? That doesn't say what you claimed, either.Lets take a look..
Gen 1:21-22 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
It says "kind", not "kinds." So if you take it as it's written, then all birds are of one kind. BTW, a literal reading of scripture also says that bats are birds. So mammals and birds are of one "kind." And then reptiles were created just before birds, if you take a literal reading of the creation allegory:Not only that, but the Bible clearly teaches that the birds were/are their own distinctive "kinds", and birds were here before reptiles.
That's just one of your many, many misconceptions about science. I can't think of one theory in science with no questions or disagreements remaining. A theory with no remaining questions to be resolved is dead.We_Are_VENOM wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 2:13 am I understand that evolutionists would like to believe that the ToE is cut and dry, straight down the middle with no gray area.
That is the implication, though. If all the "kinds" were created during creation, then it is obvious that he commanded them to "be fruitful and multiple", and to do so according to their kinds.
Semantics. First off, each "kind" individually is singular (as text states)...but all of the "kinds" collectively, taken as a whole, becomes "kinds", plural. Either way, the same message is being portrayed. The Barbarian wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 10:01 am

This relates to taxonomy, which is completely subjective. And the fact that you believe birds are dinosaurs goes to show just how subjective it is.The Barbarian wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 10:01 am BTW, a literal reading of scripture also says that bats are birds. Creeping creature = insects. The Barbarian wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 10:01 am And then reptiles were created just before birds, if you take a literal reading of the creation allegory:
Genesis 1:20 God also said: Let the waters bring forth the creeping creature having life, and the fowl that may fly over the earth under the firmament of heaven.
LOL.The Barbarian wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 10:01 am Of course, while you are busying rejecting the Bible and the validity of what it has to say on the matter, I will occupy myself with showing you that science is entirely consistent with scripture, but not your new revisions of His word.
