Christians, you proudly worship the bible 'God'. Agreed?
The 'god' is well described in the bible as jealous, angry, vindictive, intolerant, and inclined to punish, torture, or kill anyone it dislikes.
WHY worship such a 'god'?
Why worship a jealous, angry, vindictive, intolerant god?

Re: Why worship a jealous, angry, vindictive, intolerant god?
Post #2Because, like the Pascal's Wager argument presents, (in to follow Jesus - just in case), the only alternative presented offer, from this identified intolerant god, is to suffer eternal conscious torment, for which god/Jesus also apparently created.
In case anyone is wondering... The avatar quote states the following:
"I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness."
"I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness."

Re: Why worship a jealous, angry, vindictive, intolerant god?
Post #3False, Christians only worship the real and eternally living Christ Jesus, the Almighty God. The bible, to the Christians, is a book of testimonies to the Lord Jesus Christ that He truly exists, no more, no less.
Christians worship God by what they've heard and learned from God, across all generations, not from what they read in the bible, which they know is not God. Your post is wrongly addressed to the Christians, per se.The 'god' is well described in the bible as jealous, angry, vindictive, intolerant, and inclined to punish, torture, or kill anyone it dislikes.

Post #4Is that saying that Christians do NOT worship 'god'?
Is that saying that Christians do NOT learn about 'god' from the bible?

Post #5Yes, Christians only worship the Almighty God, whose name is Jesus!
Christians know God truly through God himself, whose name is Jesus. They do not believe in God through the bible, but through God Himself. Is that saying that Christians do NOT learn about 'god' from the bible?

Post #6Yes indeed, why worship, when it is said:
The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn't dwell in temples made with hands, neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed any-thing, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath, and all things.
Acts 17:24-25
I think God is the best and I want to do His will, because I think it is good.

Post #7Hmm, so the laws in which Moses wrote down, which were ultimately recorded into the Torah, were not from god?

Christ is the One who shows us who His Father truly is.
"... no one knows the Father except the Son, and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him."
“If you knew Me, you would know My Father as well.”
God is as Christ reveals Him to be.
Peace again to you.
No, I worship the God and Father of Christ.

Post #9Yes indeed. And he said this:
The Father is truly a monster, and his son is the same. Disgusting vindictive intolerant monsters. Good thing neither actually exist.Matthew 13:41-42
41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all evildoers, 42 and they will throw them into the furnace of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

To be clear: Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods.

I must assume that knowing is better than not knowing, venturing than not venturing; and that magic and illusion, however rich, however alluring, ultimately weaken the human spirit.

Because the weeds in this parable have been permitted to remain on the earth and grow among the wheat from the beginning - but at some point that will come to an end. Along with death, sorrow, tears, pain. (Rev 21:4)
And even AFTER Christ returns, no one is killed by Him (despite what some religions teach.) Some (the sheep - and these are non-Christians) are invited into the Kingdom and others (the goats) are cast out.

Then at the end of the thousand years - people outside the Kingdom come to attack the people God loves. God did not hunt them down. They came out to attack innocent people loved by God. God protects His people.
Peace again to you.
Would you have suffering, death, starvation, abuse, etc... instead continue and remain forever?Tcg wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2026 12:00 pmYes indeed. And he said this:
