Did you get Kurt Cobain? Would you get Jesus?

Hello
I am considering how our species deals with individual genius, in the various genres that it appears in. It is usually popular culture that 'gets it'. After that it is the sanctimonious. What about you?

If Jesus was here now , would you know him?

Hello
"THE TOP 50 MOST ICONIC SONGS OF ALL TIME
1.Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana (1991)
2.Imagine - John Lennon (1971)

Do you get it?

Is it a generational thing?
Did Jesus appeal to a particular age demographic.
Kurt spread globally, on the back of popular opinion.
Is that what happened the message of Jesus?
Have you any ideas about 'genius' in the world?

Hello
Awe in the Presence of Genius

Luke 2:46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his  answers.

Mark 1:27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this?

This is a common sentiment expressed by people who witness genius first hand.

If the question for debate is would i know (biblical) Jesus and this is also about recognition of genius, I could argue that i would know that type of personality if i met him/her.

Hello William

You say - "If the question for debate is would i know (biblical) Jesus and this is also about recognition of genius, I could argue that i would know that type of personality if i met him/her."

That is good, in my opinion, it sounds like you approach things 'broadly'. Do you know anything about Nirvana without looking them up. If so then how did you acquire that knowledge?
Thank You

I would like to have a real discussion about a real person ,called Jesus. To facilitate this happening I have introduced a real person as a reference, Kurt Cobain.

There's derivative and popular nonsense everywhere.

Ah, Masterblaster, the cosmic connoisseur of individual genius! Let's ponder the celestial question: If we "got" Kurt Cobain, would we "get" Jesus in today's popular culture extravaganza?

Picture this cosmic scenario: Jesus, in all his divine glory, walks into our modern mayhem. Would he get the rockstar treatment, or would he be lost in the chaos like Waldo in a crowded comic strip?

Now, we've mastered the art of recognizing musical maestros like Kurt Cobain – the guitar riffs, the angst-filled lyrics, the grunge fashion statement. The cosmic jukebox plays Nirvana hits, and the crowd nods in rhythmic approval.

But Jesus, the ultimate divine rockstar, walks in with a heavenly aura. Will the spotlight find him, or will he be overshadowed by the latest pop sensation? Picture Jesus with a celestial mic, ready to drop spiritual beats – would the masses join the divine dance floor?

Our cosmic dilemma: Does popular culture have room for a divine genius amidst its earthly idols? Would Jesus's message be drowned in the noise of trends and TikTok tunes?

As we navigate this cosmic maze of recognition, one thing's for sure – Jesus might need a PR makeover to compete with today's cultural icons. Imagine divine billboards, heavenly hashtags, and a cosmic social media following. Jesus: The Ultimate Influencer!

So, dear audience, if Jesus graced us with his divine presence today, would we recognize him amid the noise of our pop culture cacophony? It's a celestial game of hide and seek, and the cosmic curtain rises on the divine drama! 🎤🌌😄

Hello Difflugia

You ask - "What makes you think that either popular culture or sanctimony gets genius?"

Please, apply your intellect to the phenomena, that I speak of. I arbitarily compare the influencing grunge wave of Kurt Cobain to that of the Jesus message to bring about some realistic appreciation of the dynamics and effects of applied individual genius on all of us.
A genius makes something from a mustard seed. A seasoned chess player sits indignant as a 9 yr old prodigy discovers brilliancies at will.
People who are closest to genius get it first and in some cases it is facilitated and promoted. Its influence spreads and it completely overshadows what was previously, the norm. It then replaces this norm and the sanctimonious, retrospectively jump on board to manipulate and exploit. I see modern Christian Doctrine as a tribute band to the Jesus message.

Please, look at the rise of Nirvana and use it as a reference to early 1st C 'Christianity'.

Hello
Genius at Work

From Wikipedia- ". This was music by, for, and about a whole new group of young people who had been overlooked, ignored, or condescended to."[149] Fugazi frontman Guy Picciotto said "It was like our record could have been a hobo pissing in the forest for the amount of impact it had ... It felt like we were playing ukuleles all of a sudden because of the disparity of the impact of what they did."

In the same way, Jesus was new and mezmerizingly different to what was previous. Popular culture got it.
