Not sure this is the right place to ask this but, I call myself an agnostic. I want to be able to put forth logical arguments rather than just my feelings on subjects. What books would you guys and gals recommend? or websites for that matter.
I am leaning toward the conclusion that organized religion needs to be accountable for its teachings, much like our government has checks and balances. But this is only an idea at the moment until i can get facts and put forth a logical thesis.
thank you guys for your help in advance. I am also open to any critiques of my main thought.

Welcome to the forum. You ask a good initial question. It might pay to hang around the forum for a time to gather information regarding your thesis.
Here are some sources that might be of value. Some are concerned with debate, some with logic, and some with arguments.

Re: question for agnostic's, Atheists
Post #5The most challenging single book I have ever read was The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind by Julian Jaynes. It's a must-read for anyone who wishes to challenge religious beliefs, particularly regarding their origins.
From my own reading, many books on atheism are more about the excesses of organized religion and stereotypes thereof than about the religious impulse itself. Jaynes's book makes a strong case for its being of physiological origin.

There's not really any books I could recomend, but I can offer a few good websites.
Infidels is a really good one, and crammed full of articles and information.
Skeptics Dictionary is also a wonderful site.
Now, if you're looking for sites that deal specifically with debunking Christianity, here's a few good ones:
Cygnus'site is a great one.
Skeptic's Bible is an online classic. They also have pages dealing with Mormonism and Islam.
This site deals with all the pagan origins and influences of Christianity. But he's not completely done with the site yet, but most of the pages are done.
This site also has some good info.
Hope this helps get you started.
NB: There's also a few good Islamic and Jewish sites that deal with the absurdities of Christianity, and while they're geared toward their respective religions, still have some pretty good info, especially the Jewish sites. Let me know if you want those.

While you're studying, might I recommend the Narrow Mind podcast? Go to www.unchainedradio.com. Some of the issues discussed on the show may crop up here, it's best to know how to answer them.
